What is the best Illu race, based on racial traits and traditions?

Erudite, no question.

Erudites get 2% Crit and a 5% Casting Speed increase. That's retardedly good for a mage. The extra AE really means jack shit.

My main is an Erudite illusionist. I haven't had slow fall fail yet. It can be embarrassing though when I forget to cast the buff and I jump from a really high place.

It doesn't affect you if you're on a mount. If you don't have a mount my statement doesn't apply.
