You have no idea how VWB and Robe of Ancient Terror works. They do NOT increase the cap. They for effective purposes work like +Spell Damage, period.

If you have a spell that does 600-1200 and 200-300 over time for 5 tics with 0 +Spell Damage, and VWB triggers it'll add 160-270 to the initial depending on where the spell hits in the ranges. Also it's on Spell Attack, whereas the Wand is on Spell Cast, which means you cast a group buff it means you effectively just cast 6 spells(or however many people are in your group) AND it also increase your +Spell Damage cap and increases how much damage a crit does.

If you actually sit down and spend time to read the spell descriptions it is pretty obvious. VWB, and ancient terror say they add 10% to dammage, WCP says it adds 8% to BASE dammage. Base dammage does not cap (that I am aware of), extra dammage added on to bas caps at 50% of max base.

Also WCP is up alot more then 65% of the time. Imapler staff sucks...period its a pos that can't even outparse soulfire with 2 good secondaries. VWP are not that great now, I sit pretty close to the plus spell dammage cap on some things, and when vwp procs they go up maybe a few points in dammage if that.

In regards to procs on the WoCP, it can overwright itself unlike most other procs as well, meaning if you get it to proc while its on your back to 100% time remaining. VWB can't do this, plus as said before vwb counts towards cap, wand dosn't.

Just thought to say this Dark orb dosn't count towards cap either and also dosn't stack with wand, so if you have one your weapon choice would obviously change, i'm thinking guard+orb+1h? Never gave this alot of thought as i ont have

there would be no real way to tell if +base damage had a separate cap that it worked on anyway, as if it was say 50% like regular +damage, how the hell would you get there? even with VM.

Yeah I figured that, however, I didn't want to get jumped for saying it has no cap and it actually having one

. But yeah it dosn't matter anyways only to understand things that add to base dammage have nothing to do with the 50% boe cap, things that don't add to base dmg are limited by said cap.

keep an eye on your boe, the more you upgrade your gear the more you'll notice that your spell damage is getting lower and lower. Crits won't make as big a difference if your missing a large % on your spells from your boe being too low

IMO Vest of Illusory Vexation is better than that robe, 4% crit isn't better than an extra 1500-2500 damage from an extra tick of Pris. Chaos.

That Runed Guard of the Sel'nok can be equiped, used and the unequiped and you keep the +25% proc chance. Was looking at it today swapping it in and out w/ Praetor's guard and Tandem still showed increase in proc chance even when I unequiped the book.
