As you said thats pretty much irrelevant anymore given RoK encounters. I do agree channel can be nice in the MT group this is why nobody is disagreeing that coercers are not nice in a raid. HOWEVER, coercers are NOT harder then illusionists, this is just plain stupid, my coercer can solo just as well if better then my illusionist.

Coercers take no more skill its a different class that does most of the same things, i am not dogging the coercer sure it has its benefits, the thing is illusionists are more needed because they can buff more and provide better buffs for the most part. A good raid force has a single coercer in the MT group and 3 illusy's for the other groups. The coercer still has its place and can still help, and no a good coercer can never do as good as a good illusy in a parse.

2k without a bard isn't bad but a good illusy can do 3k without a bard so its starts to even out, I have seen 1-2 coercers that could put out some really high dps numbers but most of them suck.

No, they get a rez and they start with like 30-40% power, and then, provided their gear doesn't suck and they have made good gear choices, they can have no power problems at all.

fact is, illusionists do more dps and with the pet they're consistant across zones. So until you get to the level to charm servants of mistmoore, corpse candles or awesome caster mobs, your best bet is to start as an illy, then betray if you don't like it or your guild needs a coercer

The questions is.... is he talking about DPS or buffs........ because if he's talking about buffs then he is wrong but if he's talking about DPS. Coercer > Illy Vs. Caster mobs. ( Cataclysmic mind FTW!)
