Pessimism pretty much should never end; brainclot can be close (depending on your spell order and reuse) but you probably won't have to worry about it with either encounter DoT.

So, really I'd only spend time experimenting with Brainclot, since waiting for Migraine to hit could be a boost to DPS if its timed right, IDK, its a free proc.

Non-jackass reply: Extra boe damage is applied evenly distributed to a dot on each tick, not all on the front end. So by overwriting a dot before it expires, you do overwrite some of the +spell dmg contrary to what mr. Symeon said. Not to mention, that you overwrite your brainclot damage, which is a free proc for letting your spell expire. Is that satisfactory Sakua? I could keep going if you want.

Interesting, then. Are you saying the damage values on the attached pic are incorrect? Simply swapped in the Cloak of the Burning Prince. Only the initial tick shows any additional damage.

The post is from 2007, has it been changed since then? If so, my apologies. Even if it is all frontloaded now, it still would be worse to spam brainclot and pessimism, esp. with how quickly brainclot expires. I guess some clarification is needed eh?

When we were fighting Leviathan last time i had lots of reflects and couple times i was hit by strange big hit. Didnt pull aggro and didnt cast spell at those moments. After i checked parse for what was that big hit. Well it was migraine and did hit me by up to 5.4k. Since Leviathan reflects spells on higher level than they were cast originally that number has to be affected by it but the initial tick didnt hurt that much at all. Conclusion for me is to test Brainclot running out all the time and see the diff.
Edit: which seem to be Calaglins point here (have to read more carefully)

I personally could never get a good rhythm trying to spam these two spells. Waiting for durations to expire, if you cast pess + brainclot at the same time, you get brainclot to expire, recast it, then pessimism will expire, recast it, then brainclot will expire, recast it and they both expire at the same time at this point. Basically one rotation = 3x brainclot 2x pessimism, in ~45sec. I've found it to be the best cycle for me. /shrug
