Re: DPS Question
I know its not raiding, but based on a whole bunch of KJ Training Wall fights, waiting on Migraine with Brainclot definitely is more DPS than overwriting it, even with a decent BOE. (682 atm)

This makes a lot of sense with high crit when Migraine's top end is higher than the top end of the first tick. Its possible to have enough BOE that the initial tick is greater, in which case the results may reverse. There are also procs to consider, especially in a raid situation (Aria, PoM, Velium Gift, Synergism & gear).

Re: DPS Question
thanks for all the infoz, i learned something new yay! Definately going to try a new cast order monday. Everything I had tried before hinted at waiting on brainclot to trigger at expiration but i will definately parse this and see how i do.

Re: DPS Question
Also with Brainclot & Migraine having a Troub with Harmonization seems to help a ton with timing your recasts just after the final proc. that 10% change doesn't seem big on paper, but it makes a world of difference at least for me with spell rotation.
As for the numbers, what Mindwarped posted is like extremely high end expectations. (His numbers without mage group are fairly easily obtainable for most, but 5.5-7.5k will require you to be extremely well geared and practiced. (Something that will undoubtedly take you a while after just betraying) With the LAG since the last LU I'd forget about even trying to get that high for now tbh, too much of our dps is based off being able to keep our timing/rhythm up & at least personally since the last LU I've found I have to keep most of my focus on ensuring I don't miss a cast, which throws me off quite a bit.
For you right now having just betrayed 4-4.5k is a good mark to aim for with mythicals. Once they fix the lag increase that by another 500 or so. Once you can obtain the 3 set bonus add roughly 500 to your expectations, & add a few hundred if you have the Dark Orb/when you get it. (grumbles about still needing both of these)
Calaglin's #'s seem more in line with the max you could shoot for with the best gear tbh until i see something new & amazing from Avatars/Trak. That 6.3k he listed Would probably drop down to a 5.5k without Dark Orb & 3 set, & 5k without Choker from SoF. (all of which he has) Which gets back too a reasonable mark for most to achieve without these few large impact difficult to obtain items. (& in the case of the choker find a healer that would put up with us using it due to our quick casts)

Letting brainclot expire is still a good thing

Re: DPS Question
I meant the brainclot trigger on pessimism expiration. When I spammed pess when i first started raiding, I did more dps letting it expire instead of casting pess as soon as it was up. But i've since also upped my boe, and haven't really changed anything since then, so i am gonna see if it is better to mash pessimism now that i have around 575-600 boe. I also didnt know they changed the way boe is applied and now that i know its all frontloaded in the first tic it should be more dps to mash but like I said i am still going to test it monday.

Re: DPS Question
I don't think many people choose to add brain clot to pessimism, it's just not worth letting it expire.

Re: DPS Question
24s or 22.6s is too long to wait for the damage, when you want that debuff all the time combined with the fact that you'll have less to cast in a fight, plus the recast is just too short not to continually recast it.
