Okay folks, so I have an illusionist friend, shes level 77 and has played a Defiler most of her gameplay as a raider. I have grouped with her a couple times in CoA and as a Troub I'm out parsing her. I don't claim to know how you Illy's do good dps, just that you aren't doing it right if you have full power 99% of the time. That was my key to she's not doing something right.

Anyways, I am here to ask on a dumbed down non-Illusionist level exactly what I can talk to her about to get her parses up to par for an Illusionist. That means AA spec, what buffs go to whom, casting order, gear and any special 'tricks' or tactics you guys use to get your solid DPS numbers. Her typical raid group consists of an SK, Troub, Fury, Lock, Necro and herself.

Any help is appreciated greatly. I'm hoping to help her with some insights that you folks here would be able to provide me.

as for aa in raid you will want to look something like this....
STR 4,4,4,8
AGI 4,6,5,8,1
Int 6,4,4,8,1
Eof tree....
enchanting / Illusory arm line 2,5,5,5,5,5,1
time / Time compression line 5 in all but Pessimism you want 0 in that ( the dot is to long to get the dmg off it ) and 1 in time compression
the rest i have in my penetration line :-)
with that spec you will want to try to stay under 30% power you will get 25% extra dmg to all spells ( for now ) so having a power proc or 2 is never a bad thing.

SELL ORDER this is what i do i know every player will change it a little.
Just b4 pull i cast Flash of Brilliance and Prismatic Adornment .
then when the mob is pulled i go in to Pessimism , ultraviolet beam , Brainclot
then back to ultraviolet beam.. and so on with the rest of my spells you will want to cast ultraviolet beam every time it is up ( that is just about every 2nd spell ) and you will want to cast prismatic adornment every time that is up 2. Lot of spamming spells... A LOT!

Keep in mind you can ditch str line for sta if you don't want to melee all the time...it's definitely an adjustment but on mobs that don't have deadly AE's or adds it's not too bad.

I usually cast Pris Adorn prepull
Illuminate Brilliance Chronosiphoning Pessi Brainclot Beam Chrom shower
Beam Ustorm Beam Regalia Beam Bedazzle Beam Mindless Beam etc

groupss pretty much the same i just use the aoe mezz group power tap and bedazzle earlier

5 to 6k dps easily without getting the power down

on ae heavy mob u might want to use construct whenever possible
never checked so far how much melee dmg the construct does (think it does melee dmg) but it explodes and does mental dmg should it be killed before it expires
