Default Improving Gear

I'm starting to raid seriously and the whole gear thing just confuses me. I'm sitting at +620 spell, 46% crit unbuffed. I'm hitting between 2K-3.5K on single encounters, averaging about 2K or just above zonewide, in a scout group.

What should I be looking at as priorities? My focus had been on keeping +spell about where it is, building crit and keeping procs (someone mentioned this had been nerfed though and isn't beneficial to me as much any more), then looking at reuse which is the weakest of my spell speed mods. My resists are the other weak area, but I'm hoping as I raid that will fill in and I carry situational gear to boost them as needed.

Ok, so basically, your gear is aweful and needs to be totally revamped. there is a gear thread stickied to this board you should look at, but ill give you a run down of better, instanced/t1 raid gear that would be better then the crap you have:


i woudl drop your current hat for fushia finery (last mob in maidens)

your cloak for the one from the TnT golem, that can be gotten too and killed with 2 groups, 3 if your guild is totally nub. alternativly there is a mastercrafted cloak with base dmg or spell crit.

shoulders, symbol of the eaten, drops offthe named shark in JW or the broker!

gloves, current ones are as good as you will get untill you get sorcerous gloves from PR

forearms are fine untill you get into vp

belt, BCG, if you insist on useing a belt that isnt BCG, get the death bringer cord from Kotiz (bottom of seb infront of VS)

pants...well i dont really know, if your guild is capable, there are gen-splicer slack or even better mind bending pantaloons from the t2 bosses (VS or overking)

Boots phantom boots of the waste

weapon, WoCP (unrest) or even your epic, then get either necro orb from the x2 in forsaken city, or blood of the brood from vraksakin in temple of scale

wrist, keep doom wrist, replace gnasher tooth with will bender of the druidhai-kai, comes off Bbal-gaz in chelsith

keep burdened, second ring, IDK,

Ears, remorsless hoop (PR) and bangle of thuuga(quested, starts in KP, soloable)

Neck Blood thirsty choker, Optionally, if your healers are carebears, you can use pendant of swirling energies (last mob PR)

Decent options from T8 if you can't kill VS or OK:

Can buy the Soulsiphon pretty cheap on the broker, and the Malevolent pants drop off trash in SoH.
