BCG is overrated, it hardly procs anymore since it's low T7. I don't bother to wear it, a measly 15 dps doesn't justify loosing out on hp and crits / boe. But that's my personal opinion.

I do at times switch in BCG for linked encounters (rarely).

BCG in SoH on the sister's the other night did a whole 0pct for myself and another illu in the raid anything over T1 i dont think you are going to get anything from it.

Is there really some sort of check that goes on between item level and mob level (resist check, etc.) as far as proc rates go? The only reason I ask is I'm using both BCG and PG and they both seem to be proccing about the same. My zw's for VP and CoD recently put both pg and bcg at 1% each, accounting for a little over a 100dps total. In fact, I know it is a relatively small sample, but the hit rate on my BCG looks like its higher than PG (though admittedly, this may be due to mob resists being lower on elemental through debuffs or initial value.)

In fact, if there is some sort of check that goes on as far as item level, then why does anyone still use brock's thermal shocker? I don't use mine much, but BCG and the shocker are both t7 KOS items, shouldn't the shocker be getting tons of resists too?

You're right. I had totally forgotten about that. Regardless, that still doesn't answer the question about whether proc rates are affected by item level or anything like that. Last night did VP again, my BCG proc'd 247 times, my PG 271 times. The BCG had a hit rate of 89%, the PG of 86%. Unless I'm totally missing something, I see nothing to suggest any sort of mechanic like this. I understand not using BCG because its not worth it; either you have a better item to equip, or just don't want the 1 or 2% of procs. But then again, maybe you should consider not using PG as well....
