Raid Cast Speed Issue?

Is there a known bug with raid cast speeds? I've looked around and cant find any direct reference to anything, though I thought I heard that they were working on some kind of fix.

The reason I ask is because since last GU my cast speeds in instances have been fine, but in raids it feels like Im casting in fucking quicksand. The numbers all look fine, cast speeds when I examine my spells are fine, but Im clearly having to sit and wait a lot longer during spell casts. My raid dps went from 4-6k, to now I suddenly have to struggle to hit 3k. Ive asked around my raid, and Ive gotten mixed responses, but a few people have definitely complained also. I mean, Im changing gear out, doing everything I can think of, but nothing.

Any thoughts?

Little differences in cast haste buffs are actually very perceptible, like a bard being in your group or a monk being in your raid. Check that first.

Although you say that your cast times read the same so, I don't know what to tell you then.

Well, Im typically in the melee dps group since Im the second Illy in the raid currently, so no bard, but Ive never had one. And we've had consistent monks in the raids, so thats not a problem either. Good thoughts though.

I believe I've noticed this, but I think it's just a matter of perception - like one time you just happen to notice how long it takes to cast and normally you aren't really paying attention.

If you test by timing the actual spell - at least using the 'spell is casting' bar that fills up as you cast, I'm betting you will see the timing is the same as the tooltip indicates.

Don't forget to account for recovery time between spells and lag in both your commands getting to the server and lag before you see the beginning of casting command back from the server.

Yeah, there are times when there are delays between when I hit the button and it casts, etc. and obviously those are chalked up to lag. But youre talking about exactly what I mean, the amount of time between when the actual spell begins the cast (ie. the casting bar pops up) and when the spell actually goes off. Inevitably I just need to buy an accurate timer or something and check the numbers myself to see if Im just going crazy or not.

Quick question, at what point for casting speed to you start going backwards? With chrono, Perp 5, and VP pants, plus raid buffs I was at 105% casting speed. Could that be going over and the cap causing me to go backwards?

I usually run about 114% with Perp.. and I see a difference when i run below 100. But don't know the exact hard cap. I have seen as high as 128 but didn't really tell a difference in parses.
