Re: +Spell crit and +Spell damage for pet
When it comes to your pet, don't listen to any other illusionist. Parse it and decide for yourself. Everyone is going to bitch and whine about the pet being useless, when it's far from it. Your pet is not raid geared with 200 AA's, it's a summon gimp version of an illusionist, and it goes on your parse.
To those who cry about it dying, there is an AA to hasten the cast time to bring it back up, and no better place to put those points. If you need another 10% resist mod on some mez you'll never cast (and if you need to cast one and it's make or break, you're using your illuminate ahead of time if you have half a brain) you suck anyway.
And yes, there are going to be times where it's worth casting for 3 seconds (minus spell haste) to bring it back up. For example, if you're going to lose perpetuality anyway (jousts, stop casting hostile, etc). If you're soloing, you can use prismatic on your pet as well, as long as you're stunning and whatnot. Yeah, he'll die sometimes, but you just get another one.
Just know what you're fighting, whether or not it's safe to keep him on melee. When it is, I think you'll find that it's a nice little dot. Especially when they start critting for 2.5k+. And there are a lot of AoE that don't even hit him.
Also, on a side note, if you're capping your spell damage at 900, you're retarded, if you're worrying about it going over 1k for some reason, you're retarded. Get your crit as high as possible but don't pay too much attention to this spell damage cap garbage. If you're going for crit it'll end up where it needs to be. Personally 1200 is probably safer than 900. Whoever is capping at 900 needs a calculator.
