Lol, that should be a stand-up comedian routine. "Don't you hate it when you wanna pet pull and..."

Lol i remember petpulling vampires in tnt. My pet was actually able to survive the pull, rooting the mob and back off to me :o Even on Mayong it was able to stand a good few seconds till M managed to get rid of it and then get rid of me :p

Anyway: petpulling is quite usefull if you want to shake off social adds, because they leash sooner as they are not engaged. Engaged namer will chase you further.

I dont believe my pet has a root spell yet, i am assuming that comes later on? Still only have the level 20 pet until ~33.

I understood how to use daze and stifle, its scary having a big mob chasing you though, hah!

I've tried a few more named since and as long as i keep one form of stun or another up it lowers the chance of failure a lot.

How do you deal with more crowded places? Kill all the roamers first and go or control them?
Crowded areas - depends how difficult the mobs are to me. If it's fairly clear but there are a few mobs near each other, I often pull by mez'g the first one and then rooting the 2nd as/if he comes at me. I don't think you have the extra quick cast mez yet, but save that for emergencies on pulls or for the 2nd/3rd mob as they come at you.

With encounters you can throw group mez and then just mez/root whichever ones resist.

I have /pet attack on a macro on beam and the fast casting dot (not sure what it's called as your level, the one without the mitigation debuff). I also have /pet backoff on a macro with all my mez's. So, if the pet is in range of a mob or whatever and I don't want it there, I'll hit my mez button just to get the macro for pet backoff (my hotbar is full by 80), then wait to hit beam until I'm satisfied. If the pet really matters for the fight, which it often doesn't.

Also, not sure when you get the summon pet spell, but if you have it, I would attach /pet backoff to it in a macro. Then you can send your pet in for pet pulling and hit recall as soon as it engages, the pet will then jsut stand next to you until you tell it to engage instead of immediately running back after the mob. Makes life a lot easier, but you kind of lose the ability to have your pet offtank for you with the /pet attack stuff macro'd, as it always switches back to your current target. And by offtank, I mean be a ward for you, basically

What stage do things become easier? I find myself panicing when stuns are down and root is on cooldown too, and end up getting killed in a few hits.

What am i doing wrong, or when will it improve?
You're being impatient. You should do everything you can to avoid situations where you only have one spell available to stop the mob. This means:
- No DOTS unless you have both root/stun available. When the mob breaks, you have 2 spells to stop it. When one works, cancel your DOTS, mez the mob, and wait until everything is refreshed.
- Don't drop more DOTS than you can easily cancel after a stun.
- No nuking if your stun is down (mez the mob and wait for your stun to refresh).

As you get AA's, the de-aggro AA makes things a little easier, since it enables you to sacrifice your pet when the mob gets lucky. Of course, this only buys you a second or two, since your pet will fold like an accordion.

As some people mentioned, you can use your stifle/daze combo to give you slightly increased nuking/dot time.

and remember daze + stiffle + root = stun (minus root you get a mob that runs around but cant do shit - opens up for meleeing )
