New WOE combo items?

Was told during a WOE run last night that some of the jewelry drops (other than the gems) can now be improved through some form of combination with shards/patterns or something using an NPC on the docks. Is that a gu52 change? Anyone have the details, ss's etc? Thanks.

yeah, the jewelery can be combined with a T2 jewelery piece (a specific one, with pretty comparable stats)

And now I think most of the pieces are also part of the T2 set...so you don't lose your set bonus when you combine them
