Default Illusionist Duo?

Greetings!

I am an old EQ and EQ2 player.. just returning from pretty much around the time EQ2 was first released. The game has changed so significantly.. so i am actually seriously excited to get back into it. I have so far decided that i want to play an Illusionist, and luckily i have convinced my brother to come back and play some EQ2 with me.

So.. my question is: What would you guys (experienced illusionists) suggest and recommend to partner and duo with an illusionist, specifically in a pvp context. My brother doesn't really have any class preference, so anything is an open possibility. Currently i am thinking either wizard or possibly troubador, but like i said, i am just coming back and know VERY little about end game... and honestly just about everything considering how much things have changed since launch.

Much appreciated

Id recommend a healer/rezer. Inquisitor has a mental dot with a debuff, but they have reactive heals. Plate though, so they can take a bit more of a beating. Mystic has nice wards and buffs including SOW. One of their AAs adds Int/Wis to another buff. Fury has an int buff and does decent damage so you can take things down fairly quick with him and invis at 45th.

Illus work with allot of class. You will be able to quest your way to 80 no matter what class you chose to work with, so better let your brother make the call depending on his preferences.

But at level 80 its super nice to have your own personal troubadour.

On a side not, as you level up your end goal should be 174 aa points, not to hit lvl 80, so more quests, less kill grind :-)

Enjoy and welcome back
