Re: Max DPS - Maximimizing Raid DPS for an Illusionist
mythicals make no difference on flame we could kill the T8 version without mythicals so your constant ill informed barbs about mythicals are irrelevant that was the point i was trying to make but gratz on being dumb again.
and i think im gonna wait till you actualy kill flame before i trust you on knowing how gimp it is k :P
you guys will no doubt get an avatar and if you had done it via honorable means i would of been the first to gratz you but you guys get extra tuition ....
must be sad to have such little belief in yourselves that you have to cheat.

Re: Max DPS - Maximimizing Raid DPS for an Illusionist
cheating = expoliting drusshk
cheating = 6 grouping mayong
Not saying you guys did but defiant did and you didnt attack them.
Ok can we end this discussion? You think we are gimp and cheaters, fair enough point taken. Soe dont think we are cheaters and no one outside of xanadu has stated that either. Though i will admit that some guilds will agree with you.
I dont like to drag other guild into this discussion but practicing contested mobs on test is nothing new. Would be nice to hear from some of the guild who did this and then progress substantially.

Re: Max DPS - Maximimizing Raid DPS for an Illusionist
With all of the new updates with illys, what is the best way to go? I hit beam every other attack, and my solar shower ( the orange one, I think it's called that ) every time it's up. I've been able to do pretty good parses, but after taking a break I seem to have lost my ability to parse 2.3k. I'm now only getting 1.8k.
My INT buff is always up when I can, and I'm helping with power, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Is it because I'm using the old power drains as attacks?

from around page 3-5 has some up to date info on casting order. It's unlikely you want to be casting beam every other spell, I'll not repeat what's already been said throughout this thread though.
This quote probably says the most with the least amount of reading needed:

UStorm is also not casted as often anymore because of the change to Lesion and Drain a while ago.
Basically setup a prioirty of:
Prismatic Adornment
Chromatic Shower
Brainclot(Master)
Ultraviolet Beam
Brainclot(Adp3)
Storm(AE)
Lesion
Drain Consciousness(Master)
Pessimism
Drain Consciousness(Adp3)
Storm(Single)
While casting Construct and Chronosiphoning at the very start of the fight, else don't bother casting Construct at all, unless the AEs are lined up in a way that will let you do so.

Re: Max DPS - Maximimizing Raid DPS for an Illusionist
Umm so ya back to the topic, first question with adornment, useing a bruiser with mythical seems to me to be the best choice, especially if u have the extra 2 triggers on it, makeing it 5 triggers. I've seem to notice that the bruiser uses the trigger's up the fasest, maybe this is just for my guild raid situation. Is it still reasonable to have a second target for adorment or to just single use the bruiser. Also does tandem count for personal dps, or is it add'd on to the person its casted on to? I also would appreciate a updated rough outline for aa's. Whats the average for illy's now, 5kdps if raid dps is 50k? or is this sub-par?
*edited If your ae's drop brainclot also, is there any reason to keep in the casting line-up? I wouldnt think so but i see its still being posted as in the spellcast line.
*edited Appreciate some helpfull criticism, been away for bit and just returning, and would like to re-hash some alread talked about topics in here since a lot has changed since topic was staqrted

7k zw's is actually not that hard, if you check out my gear on eq2players you'll see it's not even the top (the damn good gear doesn't seem to drop for us mages). On normal trash i have no issues with parsing 7K+ (if i'm not slacking). And i'm not even getting jc or anything like that. A top end geared illusionist would have no sweat constantly breaking 8K+ dps on orange trash. Hell with my current gear if i really go for it and all the circumstances are ok, i can have a spike of 9K dps on trash in cod.
One difference is what guild you're in, i'm lucky to be in a topend guild so it's easier to parse higher. Putting out those kinda numbers really requires a very good guild.

Quick check on what DPS numbers you are using DPS or ExtDPS.
According to ACT documentation, DPS measures peek at the time for the time that you are engaged on the mob. ExtDPS is usually lower and measures Damage over the duration of the encounter, whether you had engaged or not.
Does that mean that if you spike damage for a short duration at end of fight, you can have great DPS numbers while at the same time, the contribution to the overall engagement, as measured by ExtDPS can be totally different?
Either way, just want to know which of the ACT measurements peeps are using for comparison.

Everybody Uses ExtDPS, it's useless not to do so.

Re: Max DPS - Maximimizing Raid DPS for an Illusionist
Dyanamism/Synergism/Tandem dps is applied to the person who has the buff on them, not the Illy.
I think Prismatic melee proc (if that name is right) also applies to the person you give it to, not the Illy - I know it's that way for Wiz/Warlock melee buffs and damage shields (the mob may see it differently for threat, not sure).
For guilds that are still not into VP yet (no mythicals), I see good illys I know in the 2.5k-3.0k range zw. The one that is more focused on his dps can hit 4k+ on individual mobs, and if we let him pull up his pet and TC and tandem it, just for fun, he has broken 5k. He normally melee's though and I think places prismatic/melee proc on himself rather than the tank... (don't know though, never checked parser, he dies a lot because of all that melee'ing as well...)
Just to give some ideas for raiders that don't have the benefits of all the mythicals (like troub mythical that gives everyone +10% base dmg increase...)

Prismatic go towards yourself no one else no matter who you put it on.
Tandem applies to the other mages you put it on.
As far as illus go meele ftw.!

how much is that dieing caused by riposte damage? the trash i can think of atm has no aoe, even short range, which might cause my death. So only reason to his death seem to be riposte dmg and your illu is bit dumb melee mob to its face.
just to add to Prismatic Adornment, its affected by illus stats, not the ally's you cast it on.
im not sure how it is in case of Tandem. Can only guess its based on target ally's stats, not the illusionist.
