I recently inherited a lvl 80 illy, which was rolled as a barbarian several years ago.

I am trying to decide whether it is worth $25 to change the race, and if I do, which race to choose.

Can anyone tell me what the benefits are of different races and whether you think it's worth it?

I said it doesn't matter. There is a benefit to changing, but it is so small, that it doesn't matter.

I would beg to differ, if you plan to solo him in the new expansion (or now). Halflings now get tracking - A damn nice feature that might be worth 25 bucks. Hell, people pay 10 bucks now for an appearance hat via StationCash...

Combat/DPS wise you might get:

• +2% spell crit
• +2% spell casting speed

In the grand scheme of things, 2% is minimal.

On the flip side, there are *plenty* of non-combat abilities that are worthwhile, including:

• tracking (great)
• disarm traps (ok)
• diplomacy (set mobs aggro radious to 0, great, especially when combined w/ invis or mez)
• glide/featherfall (so-so since mounts cancel it)
• 10 second stun or stifle immunity (better in a tank, but still good)

Depending on your playstyle, some of these might be worth the $25.

we have glide/featherfall included in one of our illusions already. no need for race/gear to get it.

However, any LoN featherfall cloak will let you fall slower, even with mount.
