Re: personae in mage group?
Wow, you talk about a 3 minute fight, then you fail to mention that it was a straight AE fight, which obviously increase proc DPS. Grats. If you're going to talk about a flat 3 minute fight, you mention whether it's a straight single-target Fight without adds, a single-target with adds, or a raw AE Encounter. Which you listed Brownies, grats. An AE Encounter.
Here's why you NEVER use single encounters to compare DPS, they are very streaky, oh no 3 minutes of combat time, which is basically a spit in the bucket in comparison to 40+ minutes of combat time over an entire zone. Procs are horrible to analyze on single encounters, and never should be looked at for a singular encounter because of how streaky procs can be. So never try to use a single fight to look at a proc, only a person who wants to go ooh look at me I got proc xyz to do 208 dps for this 1 fight!
Here's "ideal" situation(that being no lag, at all) for a ZW of EH with Prince Thirneg, Mistress of the Veil, and Sawtooth the Ancient. Since this is EH, it includes a good mix of single targets and group encounters.
Group setup:
Troubadour, Warlock(TC, STR/WIS), Illusionist, Brigand, Conjuror, Inquisitor
Duration:
1 : 41 : 58
Illusionist's Dynamism, 1319496, 215.7
Conjuror's Dynamism, 880483, 143.9
Warlock's Dynamism, 928700, 151.8
So, we can easily assume that another one on a Wizard could get an easy 130-140 without TC. So what does that mean, the pet only has to do about 450-dps, which wouldn't be too hard.
So, basically to make it up I'll look at how many times the Conjuror proc'd Dissonant Note vs. Dynamism, which is roughly 1200, and assume that my pet will proc Dissonant Note that many times, so that's an additional 603 per hit(using the Conjuror's Median since he has no damage increases for procs), or 723600. Now add in Precise Note, we'll go with comparing Precise Note of the Conjuror to the Warlock, so that means another 750 procs of that, which totals(at 597 per) 447750 damage. Now, let's add on the actual pet damage. In a raid situation the pet can easily do 300-dps without procs. So that'll be 1835400, add on 723600 and 447750 and we get 3006750 damage, which is 491.5 dps. Now keep in mind, that's assuming that there is a Warlock in the group, which makes it "meh." Whereas if we were to change that Warlock to a Wizard, and overall DPS will increase even more due to Ice Lash(easily another 50 dps, but probably a lowering of 10dps from loss of Dissonant Note), so it's up to 530-dps, which is still superior to 450-dps of 3-Synergisms on non-Enchanter classes. Now of course if we were to have another Illusionist in the raid, it ends up the pet starts losing because 215 dps of the Illusionist from Synergism is going to benefit more, plus a scout in the group and the self-Synergism, and you end up not being able to use the pet.
