staying under 30% power

I have gotten some tips on how to keep my power low:
1. sprint when you need to burn in fast
2. stay in combat
3. hit savante to "lock yourself in" at 30%
4. use mana flow

It seems I walk a fine line between staying under 30% and then just flat out running out of power before the encounter is dead, which is of course, no good for my dps. So while waiting for the pull, I try to keep my power at 40. I tried 30 and I run out of power waaaayyyy too fast. I'm still working on gearing up so maybe it's the lack of proper gear?

Or maybe I am still getting used to staying under 30%?

Will I eventually get the feel for this? Any helpful hints out there?

Get more power regen gear.

What he said. Get an offhander from the x2 in forsaken city. Avatar earring/necklace if they are available to you. GoG / GoG2. One of 3 power proc leggings, tarinax shoulders. All items that proc you power. If you want to waste your weapon slot on power regen (but seriously don't do this) get wand of the tempest with a +85 power proc adornment. There's a hat off Malkonis D'Morte too. I might be forgetting one or two, just check out the usefull gear thread.

I'm at the point where I don't mana flow before combar anymore on most occasions because I can't burn off 20% anymore heh. Especially on AE fights I tend to end up with way more power than I sometimes want to have :P

If shit really hits the fan there's always Savante, vaults hat, labs gloves, regen potions and other regen spells.

ya ya, get all the good clicky stuff. hearts, shards, potions, manastone...i only use savante after mana flow has gone off and it looks like the fight's gonna last for awhile...and to fuck with coercers dps.

Try casting manaflow with savante up, saves you 5% power. If the situation allows it of course.

try use "tinker item", these items from the plant in your room, city merchant mana item, mana reg potions, mana reg items.

than you can use it very well. i can do it for a long period.

Another thing is to put the lowest level of shimmering beam on your hotbar. If I am severely drained I will cast this for 1power and usually proc at least one of my power procs. Rinse and repeat.

this is just an idea im throwing in from using a similar ability on my monk, only it is + mitigation and melee crits instead of % damage mod. get more max power !!

with that said, this thread, and the thread about raiding an ilu, were most helpful. just rolled one up the other day (you guys see a foamsword running around on nek thats me) since our guild just cant seem to find an illu, period. let alone one that doesnt suck
