Question from a Warlock about TC

Hi, I'm your friendly neighborhood warlock!

TC is my friend.

However, I don't always get TC on raids.

Do:

1) You guys (illusionists) determine who gets it?
2) The raid leader determines?

In any case, who generally gets it? Sorc/Summoner? (Assuming it doesn't go on a chanter) Or does it depend on zone? (e.g. Lycaeum- Warlock, FTH, Necro, or something).

Do you use it to balance out the dps? (Giving a slacker more dps so that someone who normally parses the highest doesn't get agro - or do you give it to the highest dps?) Or do you just randomly rotate it around?

I always ask for it but beggars can't be choosers so I'm just curious on what your thought process is. I can typically get synergism, but thats about it. Sometimes I get pulled out of the mage group because I'm typically the highest caster dps and I'm the first to get agro - TC would probably make that worse. However, I'd still rather live on the edge and manage my own agro than have it capped by other means.

In my guild, I talked with my raid leader regarding TC since we now have a couple of sorc's with their Al'Kabor robes. We both agreed on the "priority" of our casters in who should get it. It was a no brainer before the robes dropped, tho. Top parsing wizard for single target zones/areas, top parsing warlock for multi-target zones/areas. Now with both of them having their robes, and the lower-parsing sorcs don't, I try to give it to the ones that don't have a robe. Now, understand, our two wizards are both VERY close in the damage they do, with gear and group set up pretty much being the sole determining factor in who wins. So to give TC to the "lower parsing" one is just as beneficial to giving to the higher parsing one, if the higher parsing one didn't already have a robe.

Our summoner's RARELY get it (from me anyway, I'm sure the other Illusy agrees, but I won't speak for him), only if there is one when I am in a scout group and I have no sorc's to put it on. Putting TC on any agi-spec'd chanter is a waste, we already are near cap on cast time/recovery reduction.

Single target mobs I give to wizard. AOE encounters give to warlock. If the warlock sucks i keep it on the wizard.

If raid leader tells me to put it on someone other than a sorcerer I generally ignore them unless its a healer having to heal a shitty geared tank heh.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Managed to get it on a raid for the first time last night. Felt like a chanter with casting speeds etc with a troub in the group.
