Rise of Kunark stuff we'd like to see
There's a few things I'd like to see in RoK.
First is something that would own, create an ability that forces our power pool to NEVER go above 30%. This way VM would always be on, but there'd have to be some downside to it, so maybe make it lower our normal power pool by 10% or have a small 1%(of normal max) power drain every 10s.
Second, please for the love of god, make it so crowd control is useful on raids. Please, dear lord, make it so.
Hrm, I'm sure other people have other things they want to see.

Well, it isn't illusionist related.. but would love to see something LoYish from eq1 return. If they aren't going to give us AAs to grind, might as well let us earn abstract adornments or something.

I second this... because quite honestly, I didn't roll an illusionist to DPS...

aye, i roll an illusionist b/c back then they could mezz epic adds and i love the idea of CC.
what i'd like to see is and i know i'll get some hate flamage for this but,
raid wide clerity, or the ability to cast it on every member of the raid.
also a pbaoe mezz.
can we get rid of illusionary allies i'd never use that spell in a raid or group for that matter so what's the point give us a group wide phase so we can save the warlocks lol.

I'd like to see a "if not fighter" tag added to phase tbh. lol
They tried the raid-wide clarity thing back pre-dof. Synergisms/Hastes/Breeze were all 3 minute buffs that could be cast on anyone in raid (or at least breeze was, not 100% sure on the other 2). Was a pain in the ass but hey, least I had an IMPORTANT JOB in a raid that didn't include DPS'n.
Personally I'd like to see EQ1's MGB (mass group buffs) system back in place. Keep single target buffs group only (this would keep it important to properly organize groups) and let everyone's GROUP buffs be raid wide.
I like your idea Pinski. Personally I'd like to see VM made into something like the cleric's Yaulp line. Give it drawbacks of course, maybe increased aggression or a power drain over time (although i somehow manage to get agro more often than i want to as is, but i just blame it on shitty tanking tbh). If this were the case I'd like to see the 30% rule removed, and just add a fairly decent power drain effect to it. This way, we could multitask a bit more. Assuming RoK encounters will actually be difficult and require some degree of crowd control I think it would be nice to be able to DPS when needed and then be able to stop (and still have power) to do some CC.

I wouldn't. It's not meant to be used as a de-aggro in most situations, but more as a way to control aggro. I know, it's a bit late, but it was fairly useful against the princes if you didn't have Amnesia.

Yeah, that's true. I was just kidding really, there have been a few times where I'd hit it and as soon as the fucking what, .4 cast time was up the MT would reestablish agro and i'd wipe it all for him. My fault, granted, but for that reason I tend to not use it much anymore. Your right though, if it weren't for shitty agro control then using it as a de-agro wouldn't be an issue i guess.

i'd be happy with those two things.
possibly extra AAs for pet utility/heals etc would make the pet a more viable option on AE named fights. or the option to tell your pet not to cast CC spells... also for raids so it doesn't root mobs 30m from the MT...

1. Make powerdrains do something. Being able to drain an epic mob's power in 5x the amount of time needed to kill it is rather silly. Even if you do manage to drain him it still hardly does anything if anything at all.
2. More mini group-buffs like savante/sentiment/TNT mage set effect.
3. Turn Illusory Allies and Spellshield into spells worth spending hotbar space on. I don't care how.
4. More CC abilities without making it overpowered.
5. Shift main focus from DPS to CC(+Support).
