how would you pwn a mage?

seriously - i can beat every class but no warlokc/ wizard.

i tried to heal the incoming dmg - no use.
i tried to dmg while healing the incoming dmg - no use.
i tried to just nuke it ahap - no use.

i´m currently lvl 57 but i looked at the spell progression
and there is no real change from what spell set i use now.

maybe when i turn 70 ( or 80 ) with some decent resist gear
i might have enough resists to beat them - but up to now
i really don´t know what to do against dps mages...

if you got advises - pls let me know hehe

Get more hp and resists.

Or get more dps.

Things that screw mages over
1 - our interrupts
2 - our stiffle
3 - our fear
4 - divine aura, it just us 10seconds to heal up to full

Other things that can help
pumice stones - can dispel mana shield

Usually though with most mages at 70, I hit fanaticism and burn them down before they can do anything. Geared up mages are a bit harder, but then you can rotate heals and CC debuffs in.

appreciate the advises. i still haven´t beat a mage 1vs1 but
i´m still not 70 yet hehe - maybe it will work out with some
better gear...

Im level 55 at the moment, and Ive just started getting good at killing mages.

Im specced 4/4/8 in STR/STA/AGI, so i interrupt on 40% of my attacks and have 4 guaranteed CA interrupts. My strategy is to go balls to the wall and just pound them into mush. Forget your healing spells, you just want to be whacking them as much as you can so that you interrupt anything they try and cast at you. If you've burned all your CAs and they're on recast, throw your fear/mez or stifle/root and try and heal a bit if you can. Then pound again.

One thing to remember is with 4 points in hammer strike you have a 2.2 second stun to throw up a reactive or control spell if you need it.
