Humor an Inquisitor Noob.
Hello, I've recently started EQ a few days ago. Within 5 minutes of play time, someone suggested this site, so I've been scouring information and been trying to piece what little I know about the game and have picked up from what other posts have said. I finally decided on playing an Iskar Inquisitor. Being rather cautious about making sure I'm "Getting it right," I had a few questions relating to the class/race choice I made. I apologize for the level of "dumb" this might pertain, but I honestly would feel better if a veteran could steer me in the right direction. At the time of this post, I'm level 11 with two Achievement Points. Thank you for your patience.
Iskar Traditions:
I'm assuming "Legacy of the Shissar" first, followed by "Venril's Guidance?"
Character Traits:
I'm assuming the ones that increase Wisdom and Power would be the ones sought after?
Inquisitor Training:
Ok, this one I'm rather clueless about.
As for the Achievement points, I was thinking:
3 Invocation Strikes
1 Writhing Strike
1 Strike of Flames
Then Yaulp, with 4488 Wisdom, and back to:
5 Invocation Strikes, Writhing Strike, Strike of Flames, Litany Circle
1 Battle Cleric
Then the Strength Line?
48822
Then Agility?
44862
I plan on Solo'ing mostly, so I don't have to bother anyone with too many new questions. I have a buddy that is going to play a Brigand, so I'll be Duo'ing with him, and grouping with the guild I got invited to at most. Don't really know enough about the game to plan on raiding, I'll cross that bridge when I get high enough. Have I completely missed the point? If so, please steer me in the right direction.

Yaulp (Gives haste + dps mod) - then 100% crit melee hits (in Cleric tree)... then Battle cleric line in Inq tree. If your just starting this is a great idea just because you can use the CA's instead of having to upgrade your damage spells. The CA's you get from Battle cleric line scale to your level.
You should have a good idea of the direction you wanna take after you get all this down

Sounds good.
I would just start 1 Yaulp - 3 3 3 3 for the Strikes then 448 STA followed by 5 5 5 5 Strikes + BC. After That you will know what is more important to you:
* DPS => AGI Line
* Heal => Go Healcrit
* No Interrupts => STR Line

They can be reset by a NPC in cities for a small fee (10g). This increases every time you do it, though.

Character traits, like traditions, are a much smaller starting fee, I believe its only 1s. You can also visit one of the achievement respec NPCs and they will give you a card with free respecs with 5 charges each.

I would like to let you know also, that its Iksar, that will get u a long way too. But I would also start out by getting yourself 100% melee crit asap, and a big fucking stick to hit things with, with a large damage spread. (such as 1-30 dmg with a 4.0 second delay would be better than something that did 24-25 since every time you swing it will do the max due to 100% crit)

Re: Humor an Inquisitor Noob.
Personally, if I was just starting out, I'd go for the Battle Cleric asap -- the CA's scale as you level and will do as much if not more damage than your spells, even without the guaranteed crit and longer recast timer. Once you have the BC, then I'd go to the Cleric tree and get the STA line to 4-4-8 for the guaranteed criticals, then AGI 4-4-8 for the max double-attack. Then down the STR line to the bottom. I'm currently 4-4-8-6-2 in STR.
Up to you if you want to go in and max out the strikes in the BC line before this or not. Damage differences aren't that big, so I've not worried about it yet, but as the AA's are starting to pour in as Im doing the RoK lines, I'm starting to "backfill."
Out of curiosity, why were you looking at the WIS line? I think I speak for just about everyone when I say it's pretty useless, so I'm curious as to what you were hoping to accomplish with it?
Edit: crappy typos!

Re: Humor an Inquisitor Noob.
I started with 3 Invocation, 1 writhing, 1 flames (though 3 in flames to get 1 in litany would work too), and _then_ got 448 sta -- my reasoning being that 100% melee crits won't be that great without any combat arts, and even 1 point in the CAs is better than App1 nukes.
After that, i maxed invocation, writhing, flames, and litany, and got battle cleric. can't recall after that, maybe head towards strike of corruption as more CAs are always nice, or work on heal crit or agi line depending on personal taste.
