I have not gotten Devotion M1 and the main effect of Devotion Adept III (Attack speed Mod) is less than Fanaticism M1. Would you recommend sticking to the old M1 Fanaticism until I can get Devotion to M1. If not, why not?

yep, i use fanat m1 because well, its better, more haste, quicker reuse timers, less int.
