I'm not techincally new but I have been pretty lazy in getting an account.

That said, I'm really looking to up my dps for my main inq and couldn't help but notice there's some chain stuff in there. I know part of the reason we use 2H'ers is because of the bigger damage as well as wanting to get hit, but is the hit to miti worth going chain for it? Newb question maybe, but I'm confused for it.

I'm currently running around with the stuff on my eq2player listing:
EverQuest II Players

and I find I'm having trouble surviving with tougher mobs like Eldrig the Younger (Our current "Challenge" to be met) although I can generally smoke other named mobs in JW.

Help please?

well about chain... if youre not soloing, your mit doesnt mean anything. if you encounter one of those rare mobs having physical AEs, just joust or HS through them if you have manually tested them too high for your HP

true that, still forces you to cripple your dps by having to use a 1h :/
and theres too many nice shields to choose from in terms of heal-gear

Well in raids, every now and then I get one-shotted (Doomcoil for instance when we go back to PR for loot pinata land and getting people keyed up)

but for solo, it *seems* to me, because I don't for the life of me know how to use ACT, that using that shield really helps up my living a lot longer and let me throw out an extra coerced repentence before I have to start healing myself with reactives and shit again.

I solo *alot* because I do alot of questing, which is why I'm more concerned about my dps gear than my raid gear (Which I can upgrade... eventually... )

why melodic stuff instead devout armor that basically have also 45 spell/ca dmg ?

and what about this (or the equivalent one with 180 str /int) instead red bone mallet ?

Rex Bone Mallet:
376 / 4,0 = 94,00
+38 str, +30 sta, +125 health, +85 power

MC 2hander:
505 / 6,0 = 84,17

which is ~90% of Rex Bone Mallet. + the proc
Stats can also be 100 STR / INT (maul) or 65 STR / STA / WIS (spiked hammer)

I think both weapons are close. All other leg 2handed weapons should do less DPS then the MC weapons.

the DR means nothing , the important thing for crits are min-max dmg and delay.
