Default Clueless on how to play and inquis..

The basics....

Took a huge break from eq2 for about 2 years. Played a templar before that. Coming back recently and got tired of the horrible ability to solo. Before when i played the templar no big deal was plenty of group action, now everyone solos. Long story short at 72 i betrayed to an inquis and now im pretty clueless

The technical...

Ok so i went battle cleric of course, and when i solo this is basicly what i do. open with convict, str/int debuff fanatical vengance, smite corruption, forced vengance. then i start in on the cas and basicly i go down the line hitting them one right after the other and hit them as they refresh. strike of flames, strike of corruptiom, invocation strike, writhing strike, hammer smite, and skull crack.

I then more or less as they refresh hit those cas over until mobs dead while keeping a heal on myself. Its worked ok so far when soloing. Not had any issues killing mobs compared to when i was a temp. But thats soloing.

My experiance with group/raid....

More or less when im in a group or raid i feel like im ina daze and clueless on how i should be playing. I try to play more or less the same way i do solo. open with debuffs, hit cas throw heals. But what i find that happens in the few groups and 1 pug raid(full deathtoll clear) was i fucking clueless. I open with debuffs and by the time im done debuffing mob is dead and i didnt get any melee in. Also i find that 80% of the time even tho im in dps gear and specced for dps ...i end up healing. I am fine with filling the nee of whats needed, i just wish i was more efficent at it like i was when i was a templar if i am going to be healing.

TLDR>>>My questions

1. What is the general process when you solo an inquis?
2. What do we do when we are ina group/raid
3. If i am doing it wrong(which i am sure i am) please help me not be bad.
4.Any other advice or constructive critisism?

Thank you for any advice help.

1. Depends on what you're fighting. (also note: Steadfast is invaluable when soloing)
- Anything with no ^'s, or very green, don't bother debuffing or casting the damage reactives - maybe put up a reactive heal every few mobs to top off your health.
- If it has 1 ^, maybe put up the reactive heal and Condemned before engaging.
- For blue or better with 2 or more ^'s, I usually root, put up the single and group reactive heals, debuff, and then engage. When debuffs fall, re-root, rinse, repeat.

2. It depends on what else is in the group with you, or what group you're in on the raid.
- For grouping, if there's another healer, you can get away with wearing DPS gear and probably only do any real healing on names, if you are actually doing some DPS (run a parser to provide evidence). If you're solo healing, your job is to heal, maybe while auto-attacking. In either case, you should put up Condemned on heroics that are high blue or better, and a full debuff on difficult named mobs.

- On raids, it's pretty much the same, unless you're in the MT group by some weird circumstance. In that case, you're full-on healing, and putting up debuffs when you're sure you can get them off without the MT dying. The mobs in DT were probably dying so quickly because you probably had a bunch of level 80's in the raid mowing them down.

3. For the most part, except when soloing difficult 3^'s, don't debuff so much, and forget about the damage reactives. Make sure to run a parser so that you can see how your efforts at DPS'ing are really turning out. Look through the threads here and make sure your AA's are set up properly.

4. Bottom line, don't be afraid to adapt. If mobs are dying before you get them debuffed, stop debuffing.

get to 80 then carry 2 sets of gear, 1 for heals and one for dps.. put those on a macro so you can swap out when needed. I only use 1 aa setup for solo/grp and raid - I let my gear decide what my role will be. If i tried to heal raid bosses in my dps gear, I would have a bunch of pissed off rogues.
