Default Inquisitor Berzerker Duo?

Hey all,
I know it's an often asked question if x class duos well with y class, but please bear with me. I am asking because my own research has not answered the specifics I want to know.

Okay, I currently am playing a level 20 inquisitor. At 20 I haven't gotten a solid feel for the class yet, but so far I am liking it better than I expected. I am duoing with a zerker and it seems to be working pretty well.

What I want to know, is will this duo continue to be viable to 80 and beyond. Almost everything I find about inquisitors says, "Go battle cleric!". I don't want to be dps. I want to be support. I want to be able to save our asses when we get in a nasty situation. I am fine with being able to smack our targets while I keep us alive, but I do not want my main job to be dps, if I did I'd have rolled a pure dps class.

I want to be known as a decent group healer, and eventually to be able to raid in a healing capacity, along with my duo partner. I realize there are more solid healers out there, but I enjoy playing underdogs and hoped inquisitor would be the class for me.

So, is a duo of inquisitor and berzerker viable for levelling, grouping and raiding? Or should I re-roll to something else entirely? My duo partner is also willing to re-roll with me if there is a better duo for what we have in mind. He is happy either tanking or doing melee dps.

Oh, and if anyone knows a good guide for non battle cleric inquisitor levelling, please link me. My searching hasn't really come up with anything.

Thanks, and please be gentle, I'm a newb. D:

The reason everyone says OMGZ GO BATTLE CLERIC!! is, well it helps a shitton with your leveling. Even duoing heroics, you two are very rarely going to be in a situation where not going battle cleric will have made any difference, and by the time you get there, you'll have the other aa's as well.

*shrug*

Thanks for the reply.

If I am still going to be able to be primarily support while specced battle cleric. I don't have a problem with it. In retrospect I think I may have misunderstood some points of it as what I read was heavily emphasizing on dps and soloing ability. I have gotten some better info now, but am still thankful for any more input people may have.

I look at it as power preservation/increased utility. The CA's take less power, especially with the BC endline, they take less time to cast, so less time spent "casting", and they do more damage.

Yes it increases your DPS and therefore solo-ability, but imo it would have little to zero impact on your support role except in a low AA situation when something else would have been neglected to get it, but that's only a short lived situation.

I'm still a decently low level inquis, my main for awhile has been my troub so don't look at me as any sort of definative source, just trying to help out with my pov.

Either way I think your going to enjoy playing the inquis ALOT more than say, a templar. + as a tank/plate healer duo your going to be able to fill out grps around you two quite easily.

At 20 your right, there's no feel to the class. I didn't get a good sense of it till I hit around 50. Up till then I thought it kinda sucked tbh. After 50, hello Molly!
Definitely go BC. It helps with power management. And don't stand in the back...play a Templar if your gonna do that. Inquisitor is a plate healing hitter. Use a two hander for most fights (trash shit) and smack the mob. Harder fights, names perhaps, switch to a 1h and shield, and if your Shield Ally specced, help the Zerk out.

Don't really count on the Zerk being included in raids. I was asked many times over the Zerk partner to raid. It's a tank issue.

I duo'd as an Inquisitor to 80 with my wife's Berzerker. Solid combo in my opinion. There wasn't much we couldn't kill.

If I were to do it again, I'd do it again. Inquisitor/Zerk worked out fine. My only complaint was the Zerk tended to act more like a Guard, hehe.

Inq has the best mythical, so hang in there.

Also, about your "there are more solid healers out there" comment -- well, not really. Inq's are not supposed to be in the main tank's group, but they are the best dps-group healer in the game once they get mythical. If people out there had brains, they would've started an inquisitor as soon as they saw the mythical. Look at it this way. There's 2-3 groups in a raid that are going to be doing minimal or no tanking. Every once in a while, the offtank will be doing heavy tanking, but for the most part, hardly any. An inquisitor is the best healer for those 2-3 groups. Templars are only needed in 1-2 groups per raid. You're the most-wanted healing class (by those who have a clue what they're doing), and yet quite possibly the least played. You shouldn't have any trouble whatsoever finding your way into a raid once you get your mythical. Inq's are fucking beasts.

I disagree with the jousting comment, though... unless the raid mob has no AE or a really weak one. A lot of AE's in TSO will hit a lot harder if you're within 15 meters, so you'll have to do some running in and out, and you could be curing and healing instead. If your group is topped off, cure people in other groups, throw reactives on squishy people, etc. Your primary job is to keep people alive (especially since you want to play healer) since each death = 2% heal for the raid mob and since you dying probably means half your group is going to follow you. Your secondary job is to find something useful to do when you can't do any more to accomplish your primary job.
