weapon for dpsing at tier8

Was curious if you guys think the thex mallet or the lava wrought hammer is better to dps at tier 8 in herioc zones and easier raiding, i currently have the lava wrought hammer with a 35 haste belt but it seems like the delay is just to long when I want to dps and im not getting enough auto attacks off, and my combat arts seem to do weak damage aside from invocation strike and litany. I dont have the thex mallet to try out though.

im currently specced for full battle cleric, full tenacity effectiveness increases, max flurry and 100% melee crit. Working on getting enough aa for fanatical devotion. Have around 55% double attack in normal DPS gear (havn't really gotten good gear for this yet just random instance shit i find).

also my strength is pretty weak usually around 450, think it would make a major difference getting it higher?

imo thex mallet. Lava Wrought Great Hammer - isnt that the deep forge hammer? If so, when that and the hammer that drops from the first named in WoE hit - you can smack a mob senseless, but the 8 second delay hurts alot - it feels like an eternity when you are used to lower delay weapons like bonecrusher. the thex mallet can *almost keep up with bonecrusher* plus fewer hits = fewer chances of a flurry. If you cannot raid to attain bonecrusher or the dogwood staff from nexona (personally killed nexona about 20 times and have never seen that sucker drop once, like wise with the rune etched helm) - then go for thex mallet.

in short: fucking YES. fully buffed, 1000 is the value you might want to have.

also, the slower the weapon, the more dps you loose from missing a hit. thus 8sec weapons can parse really well... but you need to have an amazing hit rate. and were talking about capped wepskill + dirge with VP/TSO-6set in yer group.

out of the 2, thex mallet 100%. and yes get your str as high as it can go. items that have +crushing are also vital. 55% DA is hurting your dps ALOT.

I have all the 2 handers available except last tiers star nova staff. Ive done extensive testing on the training dummy with all. Dogwood staff wins with what ive seen.

dogwood wins for soloing because of the 15% avoid, but not for pure dps.

Have thex, BC, and the WoE hammer.. I like my bonecrusher best out of those 3. was going to bid on a dogwood when/if it drops, as I was sure it would be better than BC but now doubt has been instilled. Do you guys mind elaborating? My thought was lower delay = more flurries & more chance to hit the mob while it was actually alive (also with a great proc).

We're all entitled to our opinion the_mo. With my testing, dogwood works best for me.

dogwood and thex doesnt really matter, think i've done over 8 k with both, but if i have high haste whichi is usually the case: thex, and indeed for soloing or crappy haste, dogwood.
