    Strange. I use a templar merc and I send it in to kill stuff and I stand back and heal it.

    To answer the thread's question, my Inqy just hit lvl 84 today, and I've been using the Shadowknight merc from Neriak. I've pretty much been able to molo every heroic instance through TSO content, and some SF instances as well (I haven't tried them all yet). It does decent dps, doesn't die 5 seconds into the fight like the pally merc, and keeps all the mobs off me.


    Some people are just like slinkies....they don't do much but it sure is fun to watch them tumble down a flight of stairs...

    The only time I use a merc is when soloing VP to pull mobs, especially in the large circular room which splits off into the wings. I tend to favor the inq merc only cos' its a smaller ratty versoin of me, game it the same apperance and name too.

    Brig is my favorite. DPS is comparable to any of the other DPS mercs, but you get a lot of nice debuffs including dispatch. The merc doesn't have to be behind the mob to dispatch. I tried dirge and troub, but their dps is horrible, and the boost I got from their buffs was minimal. They regen power too, but that's minimal and I don't usually have much of a power problem soloing. I got more "utility" out of the brig.

    ^same, I use Brig and have tried others, seems the debuffs helps the most.
