Why are the Vine Wrapped boots only usable by mages? This is another classic example of non-mage casters getting screwed again. Now that up to spell damage is uber, bards and non-CA battle priests (Templars & Defilers & Furies) once again get screwed.

Fuck, why don't they make bards into the mage archetype so I could properly gear my character!

Yeah, WTF was SOE thinking making a couple of good mage items not useable by Bards, Priests, and Crusaders. I mean, those bastards are always stealing away the good chain and plate armor from the scouts and fighters. But look on the bright side, you can always outbid some mage for the Insulated Sleeves of Focus, plus get the Sol Ro cloak and two +25 damage adornments.

If you're really dying to get the +damage items there's also Robe of the Black Wind, The Eye of Terror, Elder Hierophant Boots, Cincture of the Unkempt Master, Skullcap of the Dark Master, Earring of Unkempt Power, Robe of Al'Kabor, Shoulderpads of the Unkempt Prophet, Band of Braided Veins, Amulet of Forsaken Rites, Buckler of Divine Energy, Blessed Direwood Mantle, Cord of Vines, Blessed Bracelet of Hate, and Axe of Natural Order - all usable by Troubadors (and quite a few not usable by mages.) You can thank me later.

There is no consistancy for what cloth items they mark mage only and which anyone can use. Plus, this is a crafted item, so I'm not stealing anything from any of the other classes (Which btw is a losing argument - see CCM dirge thread).

I find it stupid that certain cloth items cannot be usable by scouts/priests. If a scout wants to use cloth boots, he should be able to, just like a tank is able to use leather boots.

It's pretty lame that once again, the best item in the game for a certain slot type (fitzpizzle's misty protector back in KOS) is not usable for my class for absolutely no reason.

Maybe if you don't have arcane affinity the boots burn to the touch.

Or maybe mages don't care to enter bidding wars with bards over mage loot.

Honestly, I would have no problem specifically with the Vine-Wrapped Boots (a crafted item) and the Misty Protector (a quested item) being usable by Bards, etc. However, if SOE were to make all mage items usable by every other class, mages would be hosed when it came to itemization, since they can't turn around and loot that sweet Leather BP or nice Chain pants. I mean, Gussets of the Dark Lord are the best item for the forearm slot, why can't mages use those? Brawlers face the same problem when it comes to good leather tanking items.

I have no issue with anyone looting any item that their character can and will use. I just think it's lame to complain that your class can't loot X uber item that is meant for another class.

Ok, so since you are selfish and don't want to spend DKP for high valued items, bards are the ones that get screwed.

DKP just determines what order people get their loot in. If 4 pairs drop and there are 4 mages, every mage gets a pair no matter what their DKP. If good mage loot is for mages only and good bard loot is for bards only, then neither can take its DKP advantage to expand into the others' territory.

Is the real problem that there is no good bard loot?
