Quest rewards one time only?

Did you know you can only get an item switched one time per account? I found out recently!!! Let me say this rule is ridiculous.

I have been trying to exchange my Soulfire rewards since the day they got changed. I had previously taken the healer reward because it was a mix of healing and DPS, then it got changed. Now here is the awesome part, I petitioned to switch my reward quickly after change and got this as an answer!

You can not switch your reward because you exchanged an item previously near at the start of KoS. Its not our fault that the item got changed and you have to select your items carefully in case they change in the future.

What kind of answer is that.... Why is this rule in place...... This item was drastically changed so why can't we change with it? I know multiple people have had this same problem. I can understand the rule in place so people don't abuse the system everyday, but with major quest rewards getting drastically changed this screws the people that do them early.

I think that's a bunch of bullshit Razieh - I've had a guildie who went from having the dw to the the 1hander (Claymore Rewards) then pick the 1hander and go to dw for the soulfire rewards - petition again and find a gm that's not such a prude.

I have petitioned 4 times at least now and they told me to please stop petitioning on the topic, I have talked to more than 5 GMs and most petitions I have updated instead of making new ones. I have been nothing but kind about this too :/

BULLSHIT. IF YOU CHANGE REWARDS YOU SHOULD ALLOW THE DECISIONS TO BECOME CHANGEABLE. And it shouldn't depend on if you get a cool/doesn't give a fuck gm. It should be common respect. If I choose a reward and it turns out to be less viable than another there should be no question in my retribution.

We will not change our stance on this, we will not exchange this reward items change all the time it doesn't change our opinion. With the coming Rise of Kunark expansion and the level cap increase to 80, you will be sure to find a better weapon.

Their policy is ridiculous.

They have the solution in the game already, Hail Shady Swashbuckler!, so why not use him? Make EVERY quest you've ever done have their rewards become a buy back from him and implement something where you can only have 1 item from a quest on you at a time like a QUEST-LORE tag. You can even make this a money sink and have him charge a plat each time you use his services.

Quest rewards are supposed to all be equally balanced with each other and the game mechanics are always changing, so there's no reason why swapping quest rewards at any given instant should be restricted at all, let alone prohibited which obviously it currently is.

Hmmm, bad policy, what are they trying to do here? stop people questing?? If changes are made to a quest reward, or significant changes are made in game mechanics, they are punishing those that quested for the items early

When they change aa's they give you a free respec, they need to implement something here too.

I agree it is a ridiculous rule, I know people who switched out the crappy collection items, to get one of the better ones, I bet they are kicking themselves in the ass now.

It should be dealt with the same way as AAs, when there is a radical change, they give us the ability to reset them. Should be no different for an item from one of the few decent quest rewards in the game.
