2.) Large delay. (for procs & auto-attack maximizing). Note with a large delay you also want HASTE.
3.) High DR (damage)

The first two are the most important, but the third is still important.
See your taking his words at the absolute, most literal way you can. You're missing the point he was emphasizing. DR is misleading and longest delay goes mainhand...he wasn't saying that every single DR in the game is useless, just that you can't depend on it as a tool to gauge weapon quality. Basically, even by your list, you're agreeing with what he's saying, but you are arguing with him. lol

Example: Grinning Dirk DR < Waning Mooncutter DR, but you're sure the hell going to use the Dirk and not the Mooncutter. That applies to what both of you just said.

You can't choose the best weapon based on any one factor, certainly not delay. High delay, high spread weapons tend to be the best because they are slow and have high max damage. Some classes might want other factors as well, though.

His point was DR is shit. My counterpoint was it's not entirely shit. I agree I don't think we are far apart in actual meaning.

I don't really care what his view is anymore though since he decided to be a dick about it.

LOL You must call anyone a dick who proves you wrong then.

Point is DR does in fact mean absolute shit for weapons when comparing them. Yes as other people have said you shouldn't base any decision solely on one factor, but the factors you SHOULD be looking at are Delay, damage spread, and if it's slash/pierce (if your a scout) and NOT fucking dr.

Just people that try to degrade others in order to prove their point. This site seems to have a lot of that..

Nice repeat. Let's let the topic close since nobody is adding new information.

Seriously people, please stop fucking saying damage spread. It's nothing about the spread, it's the HIGH END damage that's key. If you had a weapon with a spread of 199-200, it would own the fucking shit out of a 20-200. "Spread" doesn't mean shit either.

I should add with the same delay and all other factors held equal :P If you're going to jump down someone's throat about DR, stop using incorrect terminology yourself.

This is accurate. Highest delay in the mainhand is the best choice of weapon slot allocation. If they are very very close in delay then the next most important aspect is which if either has a proc, the one with the proc should then go main hand.

See this is what gets me, people always use examples of weapons THAT DON'T FUCKING EXIST. Damage spread is in fact the same thing as "high end" damage because in eq2 the more damage spread a weapon has THE HIGHER DAMAGE IT WILL BE. Now there can be exceptions but generally that's what happens.

I could easily say a weapon with 100000000000 DR will out parse any weapon known to the eq2 player base but guess what that weapon doesn't fucking exist so it will never happen, thus making the example a complete waste of time.

It's eq2flames.com, get the fuck over yourself. If you somehow felt degraded by what I posted then so be it. I can't control how you view other peoples post.

Nice repeat. Let's let the topic close since nobody is adding new information.
What info did you add again? ( note the sarcasm, not degrading! )
