Re: Bloodthirsty Choker = joke loot?
This item doesn't seem to be working on termination spells.
Examples from a Dirge:
Banshee - Applies 10% to initial DoT. The Banshee's Scream when DoT expires does not get enhanced.
Lanet's Tumultuous Scream - Doesn't affect the Scream on termination it at all.
Scream of Death - Does not affect any portion of the DoT damage. Only affects the initial 1k hit. The applies Scream of Death on termination are all not enhanced.
Please fix this as soon as possible as 2 of those 3 attacks are our biggest hitters.
Edit - It looks like the Vine-Wrapped Boots 2.0. The 10% is not a true 10% like the Dark Orb of the Mind or Wand of Crystallized Plasma. It's only applies to the 1st tick of DoT CAs and Spells which makes it function exactly like +CA or +spell damage. It also doesn't affect procs like Cacophony of Blades or Tomb's Calm like +CA or +spell damage.

Re: Bloodthirsty Choker = joke loot?
So on my 70 Coercer, I pull this choker out on raids when i'm in off tank group with two healers. By now the healers are aware of my "condition" and are ready for it. Even with perpetuality I can still use this and survive.
As it is, the +40int, 100 spell damage necklace from the dracoliche in the same zone would add more of a damage bonus since only one spell in my arsenal does more than 1k damage, unless you consider temination effects which currently aren't gaining the increase I believe. however, in a few levels, I'm sure we'll see a nice upgrade to stroke and other spells making this item increase damage on a greater curve that the liche necklace.
The problems I'm having with this though, is that my resistance doesn't seem to make a difference in the "magic" damage and every time I equip I take 15% damage, not 10%.
In DPS gear I have about 5K magic resistance and can raise this to 11k or so.
I also noticed that in EH the other day, the twig mobs can dispell this curse/bonus meaning you have to re-equip in combat to gain the boost again.
And I'd have to agree that the multiple procs on AoE's, but that's just something I have to be aware of when I approch the targets.
I would prefer to see something more along the lines of what Necro's lich does. A constant drain of 1 or 2% health per tick. It would make this easier to manage on raids, and wearable for just about any class while soloing.
I did notice it appers to eat though wards, which is good if you aren't with the MT, but reactive heals don't seem to proc when this damage occurs? I was trying to nail that down for sure, but I don't see why it would eat wards and not reactive heals.
All in all, I like this item and use it when the situation calls for it. In all my crazy casting I've only died to it once, and have not died on a rez yet from re-equipping. I check update notes every day though to see if anything is being modified on this item.

With most of the raid content out there, the MT healers will be doing 90% of the raid healing. That means the remaining healers in the raid should be in full on dps mode the majority of the time.
Do your raid-wide dps a favor and don't use the choker. Enchanters have no business with this necklace, unless you are maybe swapping it in for a small handful of big spells.
In the time it takes for a healer (or 2) to switch focus to you, they could have contributed way more than you add with this necklace, above other options that are out there.

I do agree that its not that great for a chanter, however, what kind of healer actually has to switch focus? Good healers use a ui and simply click the person they want to heal they never change focus off the mob in question. The problem i see with it is it can eat group wards if your in OT or MT group.

Are you kidding me? Click to heal? That's pretty lazy.... What happens to these "good healers" when their UI isn't working?

Re: Bloodthirsty Choker = joke loot?
I dunno know about other furies... but getting out of the spell rotation I normal use to dps to heal some num nut showing off does drastically reduce my dps. Truthfully, if some enchanter started killing them self with that choker and my group heals were not keeping him up, then he can have fun killing his own parse.
Exception would be healing a necromancer on a burn... but at least they give me a heads up first.
