Sumyds vs Etsipes BP, Sumyds doesnt ffect mobs over 44, yet Etsipes is still good at 70 lol this kills me.

Ignoring the PvP stuff cus ive been there, argued about that on the players boards, SoE doesnt seem to care and neither does a large majority of the PVE community.

To koenigs link, mmmm purple stuff, man those items are sweet, we need more stuff like that on PVE. I have high hopes for EoF armor sets but we shall see

Like the casual game, they probably see PvP as a large potential growth area and are therefore expending resources in that area.

I really don't think I will ever make the switch but about now I'm wondering if WoW would have been the better choice when I made the decision 2 years ago.

Pro.

I am guessing that Nagefen is probably the most populated EQ2 server....so while I agree that PvP took away resources that should have went to the regular game, the numbers speak. As long as PvP is popular, I see them focusing more and more on it.

The only reasons PVP is so popular is because players are desperatly seeking new and greater challenges to this otherwise dreary game mechanics. I can guarantee pvp servers wouldn't be nearly as populated if the regular game provided some sort of challenge throughout all level progression and end game. I can definatly see the appeal of having a full raid force going after Hurricanus or something and another raid force being there ready to kill us. It gets the blood pumping, it also gets people excited, pissed, and happy when you (god forbid i say it) PWN some kid who is talking too much crap.

If their end game provided more content and I mean a zone where the end boss still isn't beaten cause the game is genuinly challenging not just impossible but really challenging then I don't think pvp would be nearly as popular.

Back on topic though, the itemization is screwed up and in no small part due to lack of imagination on either the devs or the guys above them saying"I am mr. corporate jack hole and I approve this message... tacos rule! oh and that potential cool and fun drop you designed is not allowed in this game! EQ2 is about stepping on the people who pay our bills you numb nutts go back and change all the neat procs to Flowing thought cause players like that and instead of putting the best item in the game on a raid mob it is instead going to be in this heroic instance cause EVERY player deserves to be a carbon copy of the other, NOW GET BACK TO WORK!"

Least thats how it feels heh.

Seriously, PvP is the worst thing they added to this game. It took resources that could have been given elsewhere and it just created imbalance for us people playing the game as intended. Fuck PvP.

I'll have to comment that I checked out that screenshot of the WoW armor sets for arena rewards, gotta say looks like whoever did that put effort vs to cut and paste or even generate equipment in this game, makes me very sad that this game can have such potential as Snark puts it but definitely depends on who is altering it, gotta say the crew lacks the ability to make it what it can be. =/

Thats the thing, its not nearly as popular as people think. Is it the single most populous server? Sure. But look how many pvp servers there are. Then look how many NON SE american PvP servers there are. Now condense the regular servers into that many and you will find that they outnumber the players on a pvp servery by over 10 to 1.
