Default Re: Mana Leak Proc

As far as I can tell, this proc is properly giving power to the target of the heal, while taking some power from the caster (and due to resists, the amount given is greater than what the caster loses). The problem is that our code currently does not display power gains. I've put in a request for this feature to be added, which will make a number of these types of items easier to parse.

Till then you'll either have to take my word for it, or find someone bored enough to help you by sitting around spamming expensive spells so that you can heal them and watch their power bar ;)

For a Defiler combined with Shroud of Armor, this could quite easily be used to feed a tank for free ;)

Any priest that selectively chooses gear doesn't have to go out of their way to manage power and can never run out of it.

I use mana leak items a lot. I am playing a defiler, and with shroud of armor, this is a really powerfull power regen toy.

You can proc it on yourself when you cast group spells. Power damage uses your mitigation ( Zap is magic, i guess ) and is warded.

This is a good tradeoff when you have no mana problems and want to feed your group. I used to equip 2 or 3 items, but with the lesser versions, i only use one now.

I still have some manawell equipped too, but can't tell if it works or not, as opposed to the 300 or so power given by the leak, which really makes the allie's power bar move.

I can't even count the number of levels on which this quote is ignorant of the differences between various priest classes, their various specs and roles, and the scenarios they can find themselves in.

Edit: And no, being in SD doesn't make the statement any less stupid.

Ya know, as a Fury i thought wtf when i saw mana leak items..

But with group heals and patches on the MT I haven't noticed a huge loss in my power..

Works very well when your single grouping with a power hungry tank like a shadowknight/paladin

So let me get this straight, a templar could throw up their refreshing mental/magic ward with these on and take no power drain at all, no matter how many times it proced while the ward was up?

Test it, but it should work exactly as you say. Everyone (every class) should have themselves a set of gear with power procs on it (even in your bank).
