Default Mana Leak Proc

Before you extol us with having never used such items because you have better. Consider this; if its broken here it will be broken elsewhere too.

[table](1196019626)[Sun Nov 25 11:40:26 2007] Admar's Meliorate heals Admar for 994 hit points.
(1196019626)[Sun Nov 25 11:40:26 2007] Admar's Mana Leak zaps Admar draining 103 points of power.

(1196646756)[Sun Dec 02 17:52:36 2007] You infuse Momolicious with power.
(1196646756)[Sun Dec 02 17:52:36 2007] YOUR Mana Leak zaps YOURSELF draining 69 points of power.[/table]
And in case you think its a matter of wording or verbosity.

[table](1196647185)[Sun Dec 02 17:59:45 2007] You infuse Momolicious with power.
(1196647186)[Sun Dec 02 17:59:46 2007] Kyree's Manaward absorbs 58 points of damage from being done to YOU.
(1196647186)[Sun Dec 02 17:59:46 2007] YOUR Mana Leak zaps YOURSELF draining 9 points of power.[/table]
Using these items is leeching power from people you heal. (when its not resisted)

Well apparently I have egg on my face as a few people say thats what it is supposed to do. I was hunting logs to see how much power it was giving when it appeared to me to be leeching.

It should be draining power from the healer and giving it to the recipient of the heal. Hard to tell from your logs, but it appears to be draining power from both of you. Is this the case, or is the wording just coming out incorrectly?

It seems to work fine. Just that it doesnt log the power it gives to the recipient. Also probably should not apply if you heal yourself.

gotta be careful with these. The same deal with group spells (multiple proc chances) can rape your power if your not careful or don't have complementary mana regen stuff on.

As soon as I figured out that this proc leeches my mana instead of the mob's mana I vendored my items with those procs on them. What a waste of around 20 platin for the faction merchant...

Well it would be nice if we could see how much it was giving to the target so we could validate its worth.

For me its consistently 68-69 power loss per proc, not sure what damage type ZAP is. Mental resists are over 13k Magical 10k.

I think it needs a bit more verbosity before I sell it please.

Yeah, TBH this effect is completely worthless. Most healers need every bit of power they can get. Off the top of my head, I can think of maybe one or two encounters in the entire game where having something like this on might be helpful rather than harmful--and those are in T7.

Is there any chance of returning a small amount of power to both the healer and the target instead of draining one to feed the other? Reduce the power amount to balance it, by all means, but otherwise I don't think you're going to find too many people using this unless they've completely misunderstood the mechanic.

I wish all power proc items would log how much power you gain from them -_-

Not really sotan, i've got enough other power proc's and power cost reduction items that even using two of these my power wasn't hurting except on really long fights and even then, power feeds, hearts, shards and clarity potions kept me running fine.

Not going to be using them anymore if they really are draining my groups power as this thread leads me to believe.
