Default Heart of Severilous

Can someone please tell me if this item procs off the mobs death or the death of player wearing it. Inspiring Martyr sounds like a last stitch effort to contribute to the group before you eat dirt. ie Wizard pulls agro and dies but at least for his efforts the group gets power and a heal. Am I right?

Death of wearer, however I don't think it is working.

I am really not sure now. It says "when target dies...." "will cast.. on caster"
So, assuming that you are the "target" and you die then it casts a spell on you it makes sense that it doesn't work because you cant cant spells on dead people .. except maybe rezzes... hmmm /ponder

There are a quite a few more effects that go off when you die and they all read much the same way. It goes off when you die but before you're dead, so to speak.

Not necessarily - death saves work the same way - in that you have to die in order to proc the save. In this instance, you would have to die in order to proc a group heal (not including yourself).

when something sais when target dies it means when the mob dies, so 33% of the time you kill something it will proc a heal for 1038

it means your death, not the mob's. all death saves have the same wording.

Yes but death saves are cast on you by someone so you are the target. How do we really know what the target is in this case? I am not doubting you but just want to know how you tell. Are people guessing or are they sure?

target is the wearer. think of it as applying a buff on you, so you're the target.
