that was actually our guild. we had just changed over to a hard core style, and out of the 5 dps scouts we had at the time 3 of them were under the new bidding requirments. 1 (me) was away for a family emergency, and the last 1 got outbid by over 100 dkp. /shrug shit happens.

I think class restrictions are a great idea. It keeps the freaking fury's away from the caster gear.

But it causes a ton of shit to rot. I can think of a few items that I would have bid on tha rotted because of this stop class restriction system already and we are a mre 3 months into the expansion

So the guild leader(s) don't have the cajones to tell the fury that the gear will best benefit a mage, regardless of how much dkp the fury wants to bid? And if the fury throws a fit and threatens to quit, then they are culling out someone who doesn't understand that the needs of the guild > wants of the individual, which is a good thing.

I don't need the item designer dictating to me how to allocate loot. If it is given to a less-than-optimal class, that is a choice the raid leader makes. The restrictions can lead to a similar less-than-optimal class allocation, depending on what gear people have.

Agree with OP, as I have stated in other threads, items are just way too restricted in RoK, for absolutely no good reason at all.

Good raiders aren't in high enough supply to enforce that kind of "honor".

People should have to evaluate how to better their class with raid gear, no more than they currently have to with quest rewards and heroic drops.

Why they think raiders need to have their hands held more than a clearly inexperienced player is beyond me.

I bet they did it this way because the person designing the raid loot used some retarded spreadsheet concept and it's easier to look at said sheet and go: 13 mage items, 10 fighter items, 11 scout items, 12 priest items. T1 = Balanced!

This, ladies and gentlemen, is why 9 out of 10 experts recommend against commenting on the Internet when you are an ignorant fuckmuppet who doesn't know what he's talking about. It is entirely appropriate for furies to wear caster gear. At least, it is if they and their raid leader know anything about the class beyond the green circle beside their name. A properly-played raid fury is an auxilliary DPS class when they're not keeping the mage group alive--and doing that takes about 5% of their attention span.

I'm not going to bid against a mage for something that's a clear upgrade for them, but I'd like to have the /option/ of using caster gear if nobody needs it, rather than muting it or letting it rot. If you've got problems with your furies taking gear away from you, then tell your raid leader to reach deep inside and find his balls so that he can set (and enforce) rules for loot assignment rather than expecting SOE to do the job of leading your guild for you.

More likely you're just another lazy warlock who doesn't want furies to have caster gear because they keep outparsing you. L2P.
