There is something seriously messed up with the power mechanic when people are bitching they can't use it as fast as it regenerates. Power pools should be a limit on endurance, a valuable commodity that people should endeavor to use as efficiently as possible. Unfortunately SOE seems to lack a general vision for the balance of EQ2, and has thus allowed power management to become trivial. Not that it is an isolated example of trivialization. Basic attributes (str, sta, agi, wis, int) and mitigation have also been made very largely trivial as well.

Only two things matter in this game:

1) How much damage can you reliably deal out in a given time.

2) How much damage you can reliably heal in a given time.

If you can't appreciably contribute to either of those two directly, have a seat on the bench.

One could argue a small addition to (2) for cures, depending on the mob.

Everything else is either trivial or can be dealt with using gear.
