Re: SK wearing cloth
imo, if it's got the stats, then fuck the armor type. Would rather it went to a actual caster dps class first, but if their main argument is the robe =/= SK because its cloth, fuck them.

This is the point where you re-roll or find a guild where you'll actually be doing something useful.

Gotta agree.. if you're wearing cloth armor on a plate fighter, please re-roll. You'll be doing your guild a favor!

Re: SK wearing cloth
Being an 80 SK myself, I would love the opportunity for +INT, spell crit chance, etc....even if it was a cloth item.
However - because cloth is essentially meant for casters, I would never roll on those items, unless absolutely no other cloth-wearing class needed them. After all, I wouldn't want a wizard rolling on some piece of loot that was obviously fighter-oriented.
If the opportunity arose to loot a cloth item, I would then explain how it is beneficial to my class, since spell damage, spell crit chance, and INT seems to be a Shadow Knight's key to DPS (albeit "meh" DPS).
In the end, it's really the crowd you play with. If you have a tightly-knit group of laid-back folk, I'm sure this type of thing will work out. However, if you're in a guild that's full of greedy, elitist bastards, I don't foresee this scenario ever being acceptable.

Re: SK wearing cloth
Sk's already have +70% spell crit easily, i think you'd be better getting more melee crit, double attack, haste, ... instead of focusing on spell crit and int so much.
You're free to build your sk however you want of course. However, I wouldn't roll on that robe if there's a mage in the group for whom it's an upgrade or if there's a guildie mage nearby ready to zone in and loot it.
The argument of your guildie that "a SK should NEVER wear cloth armor." is simply wrong, stats/effect/proc/... > armor type, especially in a dps role.

Re: SK wearing cloth
Why the hell you need to wear cloth and give up on the str from plate armor? my sk can self buff his INT to 900 easily and still use full plate armor.. not to mention if you are using good 2h and have alot of str your auto attack can do 40% of your overall dps..
I Really don't see the point wearing anything other than plate armor on SK.. especially if you are dps'ing alot you can peel aggro easily so better have plate armor to cover your ass.

Re: SK wearing cloth
It seems to me that the OP doesn't know that 100% spell crit does not mean that your spells will crit 100% of the time. I think if he read and understood this thread then he would not have rolled

Re: SK wearing cloth
1) There is plenty of plate armor, jewelery etc to boost your Int without resorting to Cloth.
2) Rolling on a cloth item when i'm assuming you were in that group TANKING that zone, just really NOT cool.
3) Never deprive a magey of an item that's a good upgrade for them. They CAN'T wear other armor unlike you. So ya, <3 your magies and don't roll on that shit unless it's gonna rot anyways. :D
4) Find a better freakin guild heh.
