This is a classic case of the old monopoly chance card, "Bank error in your favor" Its not some wicked complex "hax" exploit, its a simple in game mechanic that benefits some people. As a shadow knight who chose the "Band of thugga" being able to get the bangle was beneficial. How many people are gonna say, Oh look at that ridiculously overpowered shadow knight! Look at the groups that this directly benefits. Bards, Crusaders, and Furies. 4 of the 5 classes benefitted, are underpowered and have been taking the shaft from SOE for years. So call it an exploit if you must. I call it a lucky break.

so explain to me again why its ok that you got 2 rewards for the same quest others got 1 reward for?

for some classes the rewards are still top 5 in game for their slots. id love to have both the band and the neck but i had to choose, you didnt

You go back to pick it up and the dealer gives you a car back...but not your car. It's a similar car (different year, color, or such)...but it's not you're car. But the dealer tells you that you should be grateful for the work he did since this car doesn't have the problem your other car did.

How would you feel about that?
You retard. So following your logic, the "fair" resolution of this issue is that you get your car back AND you get to keep this new car? Stop rationalizing this to yourself. You used an exploit. News flash to you! Most exploits are done using in-game mechanics for things that they weren't intended to be used for! Remember that whole Drachnid illusion problem?

When did exploit become a bad word?

Seriously though, who cares? Sony was too fucking stupid/lazy to implement a manner of exchanging the items that would prevent your from getting it twice. There are a variety of ways it could have been addressed but they didn't.

You're complaining basically that the playing field isn't level? Well of course it isn't. Whatever gave you the idea that it is?

Go buy some Guardian/Berserker wearable dreadscale greaves, oh wait you can't. Are the ones wear the old-style ones exploiting? Should they stand up and do the honorable thing and delete theirs because you don't have the opportunity to obtain them?

I would love to have the band and the neck too... but sony's error doesn't allow that. The only potential exploit is to get the Bangle and the piece you picked. I still had to choose my reward, i still chose the band because it was the best option. However, the bangle IS beneficial to my class, and was a nice addition to my arsenal of equipment.

Exploit... short for exploiting, secondary definition as:
2 : to make use of meanly or unfairly for one's own advantage
-Merriam-Webster

The difference between the greaves and the thuuga reward should be fairly obvious. The owners of the older greaves used in-game mechanics (kill the mob, get the drop) that were intentional. The 2nd thuuga reward was obtained using in-game mechanics that were not intended for use in this manner (sell + buyback) hence an exploit.
