I will agree with that. What's the solution then? To make any equisite chest have the possibility to drop any master from 71 - 80? Sure that can work, but I think that makes them more common.

I personally would like to see my original statement which has them drop in raids only since they really are not needed for content prior to raids.

They could always modify loot tables from nameds in Chardok and Sebilis so that mobs outside castle / upper Sebilis drop lvl 71 - 75 masters only while the ones in Palace / lower Sebilis drop lvl 76 - 80 masters.

Seriously, they could take Masters right out of the picture for heroic content, perhaps add-in an Adept III component drop (that could be substituted for rare harvestable ingredients), make the Masters lore, no-trade drops for raid zones only and cut out any ability to sell loot rights.

There needs to be a few 70-75 instance zones. Pretty much is what I'm reading.

I remember when named used to have a chance of dropping a rare. It was like a little surprise bonus when you killed a Bonemire named that dropped a wood chest. Pop the chest and surprise you got a rare to go with the vendor loot. Not sure why they didn't roll that over into RoK.

While that may be true, there will only be 1 of them up on any given night. There are as many instances run at a time as possible. The amount of named mobs killed in 1 instance is probable 10x all the non instanced stuff put together.

BTW, if it were ever to occur (masters from epics only), they would seriously have to expand and sweeten the loot tables for all heroic instances/zones. Otherwise, the only reason to run them ad infinitum would be to kill time until the next xpac.

i keep seeing over and over, raiders need masters.
what a crock of horseshit, everything in game has been and can be killed with a raid full of everyone Ad3 spell's
so please explain to me why raiders need masters and no one else does.
here is a news flash for you, since eq2 first rolled out, heroic mobs dropped metal chests! even bigger news flash they sometimes used to drop 2 masters spells in 1 chest.
i mean are you ppl so fucking retarded ? i mean really, i raided HC, could do most zones in 2-3days and be fully locked out of everything, what the fuck do you think we do when were locked out ? thats right we go kill heroic shit for master spells, what exactly would you be doing for the rest of the week if no masters dropped from heroic content? craft ? fuck that, play alts ? fuck that one too.
i mean you people need to think before you open your mouths, cos ill bet you now, if they removed all master spells from heroic content, raiders would be in uproar, b/cos they have nothing to do. and be even more bored with eq2 than they are now.

To the OP yes there is a huge discrepancy between the drop rates of low end vrs high end masters.
i solo farm kc, seb and chard every day, what ever they changed a few weeks ago they need to unchange, i kill maybe 25-30 named in 3-4hrs farming, ^^^ heroic named with phs in kc, seb / chard, in 2 weeks ive not seen a single master chest, and the ornate drop rate is about 35% for me rest of the time its wood.
i figured they had screwed the drop rate for ppl killing mobs solo, so i got a full grp of 6 and spent a night in seb, ph / ph / ph / ph / ph / ph / ph lol what a joke then we finally get some named wood/wood/wood/wood/wood/wood/wood wow an ornate chest!!!! totally worth the 4hrs we been in here killing mobs solid.

they need to up drop rates and up spawn rates, cos at the moment they are a joke.

Like I said, if they did remove master drops from heroic loot tables, there would need to be some sort of major upgrade in what is currently dropped, otherwise there would be no interest in running instances more than, maybe half a dozen times for the most part. Do I necessarily want masters not to be dropped outside of raid content? No. Do I need those masters to kill the heroic content? No, but it helps do it faster.

As far as overall types of drops... something is quite stupid. Chelsith, the most useless instance in RoK as far as I'm concerned, seems to be the quintessential place for wood drops. All heroic nameds seem to be dropping far too much wood and as for ornate, well, 95% of the stuff in those is bound for the vendor or group transmuter.
