Granted this patch isn't on live servers yet so it may be tweaked a little by release... but imo this seems to be the same crap they did with SoF. Lets face it, the drops in SoF were crap for T7 (before everyone claims that T8 quest/legendary itemization 'broke the game') but SoE thought it would hold some interest prior to the year's expansion and keep people from wandering off to try new games over the summer... but in the end the risk vs reward weren't worth the hassle for even the casual gamer, let alone the raiders. The only reason to go there now is simply epics and the possibility of the Choker dropping.

Even then the choker would be crap if it didn't give as large of a % increase as it does, and scales simply as it is % and not a set +spell/ca damage or proc.

Most of the items I have seen so far don't make me interested in the zone so far. The one fabled item linked so far was decent, but the rest I would probably put on par with T8 MC'd gear (level 72 gear, compared to all the items being level 77 legendary drops) which says nothing for current instance leg/fabled drops.

I rand SoF a couple times in T7 and was less than impressed to say the least. RE2 seems like something I will run once or twice and never touch again based on current item links, unless more fabled items are posted that may spark some interest.

Regardless of whether you feel T8 itemization is borked or not ( I do, but you can't go back now and change it without losing a ton of paying customers, including myself) unless the zone is just a one hour sleeze fest (which I originally was under the impression it would be an actual challenging 80+ zone) it will end up being just another SoF that most people will either mute or vendor sell most of the drops from...

And no, 30% smart loot is not really an interest as you still have to deal with the current master drop rate and SoE's tendancy to have crazy drop rates the first week or so of a zone/expansion release to spark interest and then cut them back to nothing, at least of the drops people actually want (masters/fabled drops).

And yes, I agree that epics should have been more of an effort, as well as I think group epics should have been Legendary and raid epics Fabled (tired of seeing random_plat_buyer_001 spamming my screen with Mythical server announcements) though the stats should be similar/same as they currently are.

Until I see something as bad as The Gates of Ahket Aken was when I first went in there, I will insist that it can get worse, much much worse.

Well the choker is more than a good item, its a pretty amazing/incredible dps item that as far as raw dps prolly provides a bigger boost than a majority of the gear in this game. Im not expecting another choker out of here....but I don't really expect anything from a group instance...thats what raiding is for Meh I havn't needed a drop in group instances for months, but I enjoy the grouping with the random people and meeting them!

Vaults so easy. Duo it with a Paladin.

For PUGs it'll be a 2 healer zone. However, I ran it on Saturday with a toon that I had testcopied about 3-4 months ago. I had my mythical but was missing many recent gear upgrades. Regardless, we did it with me (brigand) tanking and 1 templar healing. Rest was dirge/wiz/illy/coercer. Took 2 wipes due to not knowing some encounter mechanics (sandscrawler and noxious nameds) at first, but most of that shit was incredibly easy to figure out.

I dont think you'll be able to treat it like the ROK instances and solo/duo it, just because some encounters have a LOT going on and a duo wont be able to handle it, but for raiders it's going to be an easy loot farm. Bring a transmuter.
