Lovely, looks like Fyreflyte struck again (as expected). All healer gear is leather...

Er I take it Fyreflyte needs to be reminded that there are more healing classes than just Druids.

Shaman's wear CHAIN

Cleric's wear PLATE

Its part of their over all class make up.

Next Tier I suggest he make all Leather Fighter gear and see how well that goes over for the Guardians, Zerkers, Paladins and Shadowknights. After all, Monks wear leather so he should only have to make Leather armor for all the fighters! BRILLIANT!!

Man they need to hire me for the job :p

According to Fyreflyte from eq2's forums

New RE zone loot.

he stated
Not sure what gave you the impression that there was a greater portion of priest loot in this zone, but that is not the case. For every piece of priest armor, I created 3 pieces. 1 leather, 1 chain, and 1 plate, and placed them on a smartloot table within the regular treasure table. If you saw a bunch of leather priest loot, the zone was probably being run by a group with a druid in it.

which if u reread the first post states there were 2 druids in it

From Kander-SoE:

So then what your telling me is you have killed all 9 bosses in the zone and seen every piece of loot? All 50+ drops already?

There are nicer items as you get deeper and there are also some nice fabled items. Again, none of these items should overshadow raid gear. So raiders most likely will not run this zone for gear.

There is however 71 to 80 masters on a smart loot table.
New RE zone loot.

This alone is worth repeating the zone until your eyes bleed IMO.

Bah, Trumpets posted the same thing. Guess that's what happens when you get pulled away from your desk at work in the middle of making a post lol.

One thing I would also like to maybe point out, if has been already then um yeh sorry. Anyways this zone is still on Test meaning subject to change. Granted the items may or may not get changed....

For those that don't follow the Dev Tracker. There is an update from Kander about Master smartloot.

So I am turning the smart loot down to 30% which means when a master drops, you have a 30% chance that it will be one that someone in the group needs for sure.

The drop rates are remaining the same.

30% is not enough to be called "smart loot", making smart loot percentage based is as logical as creating "Contested casual raid" mobs

Bah, wtf is that shit, smart loot on masters was going to be the only reason to go there and now we get a 30% chance of getting a master you may or may not have scribed already.

And about the healer gear what happens when you have 2 different types of healers in the same group, random?

No, there will be a 30% chance (upon opening any metal chest) of receiving a master that someone in the group ABSOLUTELY WILL BE ABLE TO SCRIBE. There will be a 70% chance of receiving a completely random M1 book from that chest. Regardless of whether or not the equipment sucks, that is reason enough to go farm it.

And I still disagree with M1 books dropping like candy off heroic content rather than the raid content that should be the primary source (since they are indeed fucking fabled quality loot), but it appears that policy is something that SoE is unwilling to budge on. Apparently AD3's don't sell subscriptions, so itemization and progression get to suffer yet again in the name of the bottom line.
