Default Thermal Shocker

I did the loping plains quests and vendored this item not even thinking about its usefulness.

Am I out of luck? Heck, I cant even remember who I got this from. How can I get it back?

agressiv

Edit: Guess its from Bonemire. Did those quests around the same time.

You can try petitioning.

Yah, send a petition. Be VERY polite, and cite the ingame lag as a contributing factor, mention that the quest reward is really nice and that the quest is non-repeatable. Offer to redo the quest, exchange the money you got from the vendor to get the item back, whatever it takes. Don't lie and say it vanished, as the CSR can look in the server logs and see that you sold it.

Your petition will likely be denied, and this is where you need to have patience. Petition again, if that one is denied, wait a day or so, petition again. Eventually you will get a CSR who feels sorry for you and will return the item. The rules (unless recently changed) state that an item CAN be returned if the CSR elects to do so. This happened to my wife - she accidentally sold her BP from Riddle of the Vault due to lag, and while it took us like 4 petitions, she did eventually get it back.

Won't work. I accidentally sold my Hoo'loh's Hat back in KoS days. I begged, pleaded and did everything I could getting no as an answer. Finally, I lost my cool, and started ripping into the CSR that got ahold of me.

I asked to pay the money back, re-do the quest, anything I could do to get it back, but nothing. However, the approach as of late is a LOT more geared to the playerbase, so it might be worth attempting. But, don't get your hopes up.

Well it doesn't work for everybody, but Laodaron, you admittedly lost your cool, so that probably shot your chances all together. Try what Kyrsten said, that is keep cool, and try every few days until you finally either give up or get the right csr. I paid 15p for some bracers with a nice proc on them one time, then the very next day, they changed the proc so that it does less and to not affect epics. omg was i pissed. Back in the day that 15p was ALOT more than it is now, and in fact was the most money I ever had and all that I had saved up until that point in the game. I tried for weeks to get my money back and nothing, finally gave up. But about a year ago, I did have 2 other items that were somehow sold while standing at the merchant, and after about 6 tries, I did get them returned. Don't know why every csr can't be consistent about it, but I was told (and not sure if it's true), that some csr's in other parts of the world simply don't have the capability to do it, but the ones in western usa do.

I lost my cool after hours and days of trying to get it back. Up until that point I was almost begging.

A bit of insight, coming from someone who has worked in IT Helpdesk/Support both as a phone agent and in a management role for almost 6 years now.

Sometimes the outsourced agents in India, the Phillipines, or where ever, really do not have the ability to do what you want. Other times, they do, but flat out will not do it if it's not spelled out explicitly in the process for that issue. They are very polite - often so polite it makes you want to scream - and are very good at following their support directions and processes. What they do not do, is think outside of those processes, because they don't want to do something that will put their job at risk.

If you think for a second and realise that these jobs are probably the best thing to ever happen to them and their families, you will understand why they aren't going to deviate from what they know to be process just to get you your item back, or change your interest rate, or anything else you ask them to do, especially since they catch so much crap to begin with.

I see customer survey scores all day long that say "oh, my problem was fixed promptly, but my god, why did I have to talk to some Indian", or "I couldn't understand a word he said, his accent was too heavy, but yeah, he explained to me how to fix my problem in 5 minutes".

I guess what I'm trying to say is that support agents here in the States get cut a LOT more slack on the job and are much more inclined to work with you. You just need to be patient and keep trying until you get one

I sold my Power Making Godking Item thingy (forget name, has minus stats, and is upgraded from finishing godking quest) in T6 and they never ever helped me out.
