I realize this won't make me very popular with some people, but I think it's time to talk about how overpowered this item is.
Yes, I'm talking about every priest and fighter's favorite two hander - the Vraksakin Claw Club.
The two hander on the left drops of Woushi, the boss mob of Emerald Halls, which I believe most would agree is presently the hardest raid instance in EQ2.
The two hander on the right, the Vraksakin Claw Club, drops off a dragon in Temple of Scale that can be one grouped by a pick up group wearing Xegonite armor.
Forget about the adornments on each weapon when you look at these pics. Just look at the weapon itself.
The EH two hander has nicer stats, sure, but the only purpose of two hand melee weapons is to cause damage - only a sub-functional retard would use a two handed melee weapon for its stats rather than it's damage.
The EH spear shows a better damage rating, but that is misleading to the point of being meaningless. The spread on The Club is wider and higher. The Club has twice as good a proc as the spear. Both weapons have the exact same delay and proc rate.
With each weapon equipped and just doing autoattack damage, The Club parses about 25 percent higher damage than the EH spear. That's true regardless of mob type, in apples vs. apples comparisons of just standing and killing a mob with the spear using nothing but autoattack, and then killing the same mob with The Club.
Items in this game should not be like this. I should have the incentive to upgrade my items. I should want to get better, fancier weapons from mobs that are harder to kill. It should never be the situation that raid guilds camp and farm easy mobs to get the best weapon of it's type in game.
The bottom line is this, in my opinion: The damage on these weapons should be reversed. The Club is way overpowered and will continue to be the best two hander in game until the next expansion unless this is changed. And that would make no sense at all.
