I'd cross my fingers and hope that EQ3 would go back to this, but all the dumb fuckers of this latest MMO generation think that the most important thing in the game is getting new loot, and refuse to try to find enjoyment in anything else... like the thrill of competition. It's a concept that's unlikely to make a return. I'm done with MMO's until it eventually does (which means I'm probably done with MMO's-- and from the direction they're heading it appears to be no great loss!).

The fact is you could be gimp in EQ1 and STILL GANK CONTESTED. Don't say that it required skill it only required numbers. If you needed to break some guilds hold all it took was enough recruitment, PERIOD. Saying it required skill is like saying that Iran beat Iraq in the Iran-Iraq war of the 80's through "skill".
