Given the fact that each sucessful or unsucessful attempt on Mayoong requires 1 tunarian wolfsbane, and the inherent Time Sink required in aquiring said wolfsbane, there should never be 2 identical chest pieces in 1 Mayoong chest IMO. We deserve better than this. Very disappointed if this is the Dev's answer to the set loot problem until another half assed fix come Gu 35.

well in theory, if you have 20 classes in your raid, you have a 5% chance of getting duplicate chest/leg pieces in a chest (that's once every 4-5 months)...the problem is that the RNG is likely still flawed so instead of 5% it's maybe like 25%...I believe Aeralik posted a couple days ago on the official forums that they are still working on tweaking the RNG...the RNG is a huge problem that really needs to be fixed, whereas specifically fixing duplicate chest drops is something minor in comparison...I think SOE's impression is that if they can fix the RNG, then duplicate items are theoretically rare enough that it's not worth the effort to deal with...

To air some raid laundry we had 21 unique classes. if memory serves correctly.

as for the two tables they are/were not identical, they were split 12 and 12 with the intention they would drop different loot.


this is icing on the cake especially for summoners where our old pet bugs are back with the pet changes now add in the tables for mayong are broke....


yes I posted this upset but it does not deny the fact that dropping the same piece of loot should not happen. ever.


The loot drops are so stupid that some alts have more class gear than a main and that is simply because shit doesn't drop, or it drops too much.

Would the tone of the post have been different if say you killed Woushi and got 2 Axes?

Hell would there even be a post if that had happened.....

It's funny that people only post stuff like this when it doesn't benefit them, but I guarantee if 2 Axes or say 2 of something else that people wanted dropped nobody would report, or bug shit.

To be honest stop bitching, the devs already made it easier for you to get you loot faster. Only classes in the raid can have their pieces drop...how many tmes do you think we killed him where we got pieces that no one could use. Sometimes you need to put a little work and time into getting what you want. No one ever said these changes are going to give you instantaneous gratification

problem is class specific armor are just 2 restrictive to have 2 of the same class drop at the same time. other items will always get someone in raid to use it. especially axes.

And you know this how? As far as it probably is 1 table with 24 BPs and it randoms from the same table twice. All that's supposed to happen is if it gets something nobody can use(which technically means equip, NOT whether they need it) it randsom from the same table over and over until it gets something somebody in the raid can use. If you end up with a duplicate, oh well! Nobody has said anything about any of these changes actually basing on what people have, and how many of a class in a raid deciding anything. It's just random.

I wish people would read the patch notes before bitching about a change, considering everything you guys are continually saying is completely made up and just going on what you wish would happen. The fact is, nobody ever said shit about what you guys are saying.

I dont know I think it is pretty messed up that a mob drop the same thing twice?

That should not be the case, how long has this game been out there now and stuff like that still happens?

Pretty fucked up and sounds like the devs need a bit of a calling out. How can you say that is not poor game design??

Then again I am not like some of you with your lips to devs ass, so they will come and post here.

Lets say that when Mayong is killed he draws from one large loot table twice to see which two Breastplates drop, in this case it was two zerker Breastplates. To spare us the aggravation of getting duplicate drops on the same kill, why don't they change it to where he draws from two item pools when killed, like maybe a caster/priest and then a fighter/scout pool. No more duplicate items after that, same should be done with Woushi.

What's your point right now?

The fix for set loot seems to be working as intended. Sure, dupe items in a chest is frustrating. But, does that really justify someone going into 'Super Douche' mode, and yelling at the devs? What's more, the OP is complaining about something that, was clearly stated, wasn't going to be fixed in this patch.

Also, having intelligent and rational conversations with developers is not kissing ass. Grow up.
