Utik, Thanksgiving began way back in the 1600's when the Pilgrims came to America to escape the tyranny in England and to worship the way they wanted to.

The Native Americans of the region brought food to them and shared it during a lean time where they didn't have much to eat.

To repay them, the transplanted Americans decided that the Native Americans couldn't worship the way they wanted and needed some tyranny that included moving them to tiny reservations and letting them make money by opening casinos.

Well, that's the short version of the past 400 years anyway.
