Not sure where you got your info....
From the British Journal of Cancer:
Breast Cancer accounts for 15.5 % of years of life lost to cancer
Prostate Cancer accounts for 5.5% of years of life lost to cancer
And in fact prostate cancer has the lowest average years of life lost of all types of cancer (meaning that this cancer will shorten your life by the least of all other cancers)
In Canada 2001:
Breast Cancer: 334.5 Potential Year of Life Lost (PYLL)/ 100,000
Prostate Cancer: 56.6 PYLL / 100,000
Women get breast cancer WAY younger than men get prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer for the most part is VERY slow growing therefore if you get it you will probably die of something else before the prostate cancer kills you.
