There was a discussion just like this in 70-79 when someone was saying "WTB loot rights to somethingorother".....

As I pointed out then - sometimes it's just dumb bad luck. We had a guy in our guild who was after carotidcutter - he did CoA as often as he could, the darn thing just never dropped for him, so yes, he resorted to asking to buy loot rights in the chat channels. And before someone says it, no, he didn't stop doing CoA himself at that point, he just did both.
