This game has a lot of give and take, once people learn the cards more, myself included, decks will certainly get more diverse and interesting in what they can do.

True but i still think that the player should WIN in order to apply an ability at a quest.

Re: The actual game.
I definitely think you should only be able to apply abilities if You win a quest.
I also think you should be able to choose wether to attempt a quest or not, sometimes your forced into situations where no matter what your avatar is taking 1 or more point of damage because the game forces you to attempt a quest and if you have your units Exerted from defense of last turn your pretty helpless against it.
I have spent more time playing LoN than actually playing eq2, I havent bought any cards or traded but I'm having pretty good luck with my Mage Deck, maybe I just havent fought enough twinked people.
I think units need to matter more as well, I've faced a few decks built around DD to your avatar where basically they had 0 units at all and just nuked your avatar with abilities/tactics.

Imho the game should focus more heavily on Units anyways, I mean abities and tactics shoulds be your support with units being the bread and butter.

thats not true at all unless you have a wide selection of cards to chose from when building your deck...most people dont have even 1 of many of these cards that are being mentioned. i can understand that 2 people with a custum tailored deck can hold off opponents, which is where the first mover advantage goes away, but there is still indeed an advantage and overcoming it is possible.
